WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Day One: Depart Bristol Avonmouth
Board Marco Polo in Bristol today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.
Days Two and Three: At sea
Settle into the shipboard routine of rest and relaxation as Marco Polo spends two days at sea.
Day Four: Christmas Day
Spend Christmas Day at sea. Relax and enjoy the care and attention of the Captain, Officers, crew and entertainment team as they do everything they can to ensure that you and your fellow passengers have a Christmas celebration unlike any other.
Day Five: Gibraltar
Marco Polo arrives in Gibraltar to spend Boxing Day in the Mediterranean's most British location. Explore the pretty town, or ride the cable car to the summit of the Rock to meet the ever-mischievous resident apes and take in the spectacular views.
Day Six: At sea
Today will be spent at sea, giving you the chance to make use of Marco Polo's many amenities.
Day Seven: Santa Cruz, Tenerife
From Mount Teide's snow-capped peak to the warm seas of Playa Del Duque, Tenerife boasts a breadth of climates and ecosystems that few places its size can match. Spend your day here exploring the principal port, Santa Cruz, or discovering some of the island's natural wonders on a shore excursion.
Day Eight: Arrecife, Lanzarote
Today Marco Polo arrives in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote. Don't miss the chance to ride a camel to the edge of a volcano in Timanfaya National Park, take a dip in the warm waters or relax on the island's sandy beaches.
Day Nine: Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
Our final Canary Islands call is Las Palmas, Gran Canaria’s principal port. Immerse yourself in the bustle of modern Puerto de la Luz. wander the cobbled streets and palm-fringed squares of the port's old town, Vegueta, or take an excursion to see Maspalomas's vast sand dunes or explore the rugged landscape of Pico de las Nieves.
Day 10: Funchal, Madeira
Marco Polo spends New Year's Eve cruising north to Madeira. She'll arrive in Funchal at around dinner time, in time for you to enjoy a fantastic New Year fireworks display.
Day 11: Funchal, Madeira
What better way to kick off 2019 than with a day surrounded by the natural beauty of Madeira? This sub-tropical paradise is home to some of the most vibrant and varied plant life on Earth. Relax in the island capital, Funchal, visit the wonderful Botanical Gardens, and perhaps race downhill from Monte to Livramento in a wickerwork ’toboggan’ before returning to Marco Polo before she sets sail this evening.
Day 12: At sea
Spend another relaxing day at sea as Marco Polo cruises back to mainland Europe.
Day 13: Lisbon, Portugal
The Portuguese capital, Lisbon, is Marco Polo's last European port of call. Wander up through the cobbled streets of the Alfama towards Sao Jorge Castle, relax by the fountain in Rossi Square or follow the shoreline along to where the ornate battlements of the Belem Tower guard the mouth of the River Tagus.
Days 14-15: At sea
Relive the memories of your voyage as Marco Polo cruises back to the UK.
Day 16: Arrive Bristol Avonmouth
Marco Polo arrives back in Bristol at the end of a wonderful Christmas and New Year cruise.
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.
