WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Day One: Depart Portsmouth
Board Marco Polo in Portsmouth ahead of your late-afternoon cruise departure.
Day Two: At sea
Spend your first full day on board relaxing and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Day Three: Dublin
Marco Polo's first stop is Dublin. This great city of culture, once home to Joyce, Yeats, Wilde and Swift, is one of Europe's most engaging capitals. Grafton and O'Connell Streets are popular with visitors, as are the city's famous bars and pubs, cafes and coffee shops.
Day Four: St Mary's
This morning finds us in the Isles of Scilly. Marco Polo anchors here in sheltered waters, giving you the opportunity to go ashore to explore Hugh Town on St Mary's, the flower-strewn byways beyond, and stunning Tresco, where the famous Abbey Gardens house Britain's finest subtropical plant collection.
Day Five: St Peter Port
Guernsey's St Peter Port welcomes us this morning. See 800-year-old Castle Cornet, which guards the entrance to the harbour, wander the cobbled central quarter and make the most of the island's tax-free shopping.
Days Six and Seven: Rouen
This morning Marco Polo arrives in the ancient city of Rouen for the highlight of your cruise - the Rouen Armada. Evey five or six years, around 50 elegant, tall-masted sailing ships from around the world visit Rouen to become the focal point of a quayside celebration mixing music, fireworks and demonstrations of maritime skill and much more.
We'll spend two whole days here, so you have every opportunity to enjoy the Armada, and to visit the Place du Vieux-Marche, site of Saint Joan's martyrdom, see the city's famous one-handed mechanical clock and the stunning Gothic cathedral, and perhaps join an optional excursion to Monet's delightful house and gardens at Giverny.
Day Eight: River Seine navigation and Honfleur
Early this morning, Marco Polo cruises back upriver to the mouth of the Seine and our final port of call: Honfleur. Wander around the streets and harbour of this favourite retreat of the French Impressionists, past the pretty step-gabled houses, and perhaps head along the coast to the elegant resort of Deauville on a shore excursion.
Day Nine: Arrive Portsmouth
Bid farewell to Marco Polo and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.
