Life on board Magellan
There's far more to Magellan than we could possibly fit on this page. Click below to find out more about her cabins, restaurants and other excellent facilities.
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Day One: Depart from Newcastle
Join Magellan in Newcastle, today, ahead of her afternoon sailing.
Day Two: Dundee
Magellan arrives in Dundee, where you'll have time to step ashore and explore this historic port town. Discover the city's nautical history by visiting Captain Scott's RRS Discovery or the 19th-century warship, HM Frigate Unicorn.
Day Three: Lerwick
Our next port is the Shetland capital, Lerwick. Spend time exploring this rugged but enchanting town, or join an excursion to the 3,000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Day Four: Kollafjordur
The ’stretched’ village of Kollafjordur welcomes Magellan to the Faroes today. Tiny Torshavn is the capital of this cluster of remote islands, home to countless bird species and deep-rooted Norse traditions. On an optional excursion to other islands, you might cross the famous ‘Bridge across the Atlantic’, which connects the main island, Streymoy, with smaller Eysturoy.
Day Five: Kirkwall
Today Magellan arrives in Kirkwall, Orkney's historic capital. Wander the streets and marvel at magnificent St Magnus Cathedral, or join an excursion to fabled Scapa Flow, Churchill's famous Barriers or the Italian Chapel.
Day Six: Portree
The Isle of Skye is a wonderful place to explore. Spend the day in picturesque Portree, with its quayside fish 'n' chip shops, or join an excursion and head north, past the Old Man of Storr, to Duntum's Museum of Island Life; west to brooding Dunvegan Castle; south past the spectacular Cuillins; or even across the bridge to mainland Scotland.
Day Seven: Belfast
Early this morning, Columbus arrives in historic Belfast. Explore the city centre, visit the new Titanic Quarter developments that pay homage to the ill-fated vessel, or join an optional excursion to the vast ’stone staircase’ of the Giant’s Causeway on the Antrim Coast beyond.
Day Eight: Arrive in Liverpool
Magellan reaches Liverpool today, where you'll disembark after a wonderful cruise. (An optional coach transfer back to Newcastle will be available to book before departure.)
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.
