  • Join Magellan in Liverpool and relax on board as you prepare to set sail.

  • Crossing the Irish Sea, Magellan slips outside British waters to visit Dublin, today. The Irish capital has been a thriving cultural centre for centuries. Join the shoppers on Grafton and O’Connell Streets, visit historic Trinity College or head to one of the many cafes, coffee shops, bars and pubs to ’soak up’ the local colour.

  • Spend today relaxing at sea.

  • This morning Marco Polo arrives in Lerwick, the rugged Shetland capital. Step ashore to explore a fascinating land filled with ancient legend traditional crafts and an incredible abundance of birdlife. pend time in the town, or join an optional excursion to the 3,000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof to discover its Bronze and Iron Age remains.

  • Your first fjordland call is Bergen, an ancient city of medieval houses, cobbled streets, and the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and the fish market, stroll past historic Bryggen’s wooden warehouses and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of ‘Mount’ Floyen.

  • Today Magellan calls at Olden on Nordfjord, the dropping-off point for a shore excursion, through the almost unimaginably beautiful countryside, to the famous Briksdal Glacier. This immense cliff of ice is actually just part of the vast icy mass of the Jostedalsbreen ice-pack, which covers the land above the eastern reaches of the fjord.

  • Your first fjordland call is Bergen, an ancient city of medieval houses, cobbled streets, and the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg.
