Life on board Magellan
There's far more to Magellan than we could possibly fit on this page. Click below to find out more about her cabins, restaurants and other excellent facilities.
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Day One: Depart Liverpool
Join Magellan in Liverpool, before she sets sail this evening.
Day Two: At sea
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea, getting to know your ship and your fellow passengers.
Day Three: Torshavn, Faroes
Tiny, Toytown-like Torshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. Explore its confusion of lanes, narrow passages and black-tarred houses with green turf on the roofs, or join an excursion, perhaps to cross the famous Bridge across the Atlantic connecting the main island of Streymoy with the spectacular scenery and ancient wooden churches of smaller Eysturoy.
Day Four: Klaksvik, Faroes
After a morning spent cruising through the Faroe Islands, Magellan calls in Klaksvik, capital of the Nordoyar (the six northeasternmost Faroes). Many of the inhabitants of this remote Danish outpost are direct descendants of the Vikings, and still speak an ancient Norse language. Sheltered by conical mountains, Klaksvik is surrounded by a birdwatcher’s paradise of green meadows that you’ll be able to explore on today’s optional shore excursion.
Day Five: At sea
Relax on board as Magellan cruises north and spends another day at sea.
Day Six: Akureyri, Iceland
Your first Icelandic port of call is Akureyri, on the rugged north coast, where the summer days are longest of all. The area beyond this thriving winter resort is wondrously scenic, with the thundering Godafoss Falls and volcanic Lake Myvatn both nearby.
Days Seven to Nine: Reykjavik, Iceland
After a day sailing along the Icelandic coast, Magellan docks in the world's northernmost capital, the fascinating city of Reykjavik, this evening. Step ashore to spend the next few days exploring, perhaps taking the lift to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visiting the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum. Witness geothermal activity at the famous Blue Lagoon Pool and at the original Geysir - after which all others are named.
Days 10-11: At sea
Relax as Magellan spends another two days at sea at the start of her voyage back towards the UK.
Day 12: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Enjoy a last day at sea with your fellow passengers.
This morning, Magellan arrives in historic Belfast. Explore the city centre, visit the new Titanic Quarter developments that pay homage to the ill-fated vessel, or join an optional excursion to the vast ’stone staircase’ of the Giant’s Causeway on the Antrim Coast beyond.
Day 13: Dublin, Ireland
Magellan's first point of call is delightful Dublin, the incomparable Irish capital - once home to Joyce, Yeats, Wilde and Swift. Relax in one of the city's many bars and pubs, cafes and coffee shops, or shop on Grafton and O'Connell Streets as you get to know the city.
Day 14: Arrive Liverpool
Magellan arrives back in Liverpool this morning, at the end of a wonderful Iceland cruise.
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.
