Christmas Festivities in France

Join us aboard Magellan for a Christmas Markets cruise to Normandy. Sail across the the Channel from Tilbury and through the upper reaches of the River Seine to Rouen. See the Place du Vieux-Marche, where Joan of Arc was tried and executed, the ornate clock-face of the Gros Horloge, and the chalets and stalls of the Christmas Market that shelter beneath the city's stunning Gothic cathedral. After a night here, Magellan will head back down the Seine to Honfleur, for a day soaking up the festive atmosphere that fills this pretty port in the run up to Christmas.

    Today Magellan navigates into the heart of Normandy - heading to the ancient city of Rouen. We'll spend the night here, giving you the chance to explore. See the Place du Vieux-Marche, site of Saint Joan's martyrdom, the famous one-handed mechanical clock and the chalets and stalls of the Christmas Market that shelter beneath the city's stunning Gothic cathedral.

    Depart: 1615hrs

    Early this morning you'll arrive at the mouth of the River Seine, and Honfleur. This favourite retreat of the French Impressionists, and its harbour surrounded by gabled houses, are an unforgettable sight at Christmastime. Explore the town, or venture further afield on an optional excursion.

  • Arrive: 0900hrs

    Say goodbye to Magellan, her crew and your fellow passengers as she arrives in Tilbury, today, and you disembark at the end of a wonderful cruise.
