    This morning Astoria arrives in Warnemunde, gateway to the city of Rostock. Discover the port’s charming gabled houses and historic Neuer Markt, or join the optional excursion to Berlin. Take in the city’s fascinating history - from the Brandenburg Gate and the great 1926 Olympic Stadium to Hitler’s Bunker and Checkpoint Charlie - before returning to Astoria, ready to sail, this evening.

    Today we’ll arrive in Tallinn. Step back in time as you explore the enchanting Estonian capital with its perfectly preserved old town, winding cobblestone streets full of storybook houses, steepled churches and ancient buildings, all watched over by Toompea Castle.

    Depart: 1800hrs (Day Eight)

    Astoria will spend two days at the docks of St Petersburg, one of the world’s most startling and glorious cities, with its world-renowned Hermitage Museum, its wide canal-side boulevards and its modern cosmopolitan atmosphere. We’ll have lots of time in the city, so don’t miss our optional excursion to the Tsars’ Summer Palace at Petrodvorets, the chance to explore the city’s Haymarket, or the opportunity to see the opulence of the Mariinsky Theatre, home to the world-renowned Kirov Ballet.

    Depart: 1430hrs

    Step ashore this afternoon to explore the wonderful port of Helsinki, where the City Hall overlooks the fresh fish stalls and historic, covered Market Hall in Market Square. Stroll through Esplanade Park, and take in the panoramic views of the city and the sea beyond from the Cathedral tower. Don’t miss stunning Senate Square, whose great neo-Classical buildings doubled for Moscow in many Cold War Era movies.

    Depart: 1600hrs

    Astoria will call at Nynashamn, this morning, and you’ll have the chance to head to Stockholm. Best explored on foot, the Swedish capital spans 14 islets and boasts a wonderful mix of historic sights and fine city parks. Its ancient heart is Gamla Stan, a beguiling labyrinth of cobbled streets, shops, cafes and restaurants.

    Trendy Copenhagen, with its bicycle-packed streets and laid-back cafe culture, is today’s destination. See famous Tivoli Gardens (entrance payable locally) or join an optional shore excursion to discover the iconic Little Mermaid, the Royal Palace and the plush stores that line the Stroget - the city’s elegant shopping street.
