Where stories begin

Astoria Cruises

With a passenger complement of just 550, Astoria offers traditional cruising in the classic style. Her relatively small size means she can access a greater range of ports than her mega-ship counterparts, and that life on board is a more intimate and friendly cruising environment.

Yet, despite her size, Astoria doesn't fall short when it comes to leisure facilities, with a selection of restaurants, bars, lounges, swimming pools and entertainment on board. All this, together with a friendly and attentive crew, ensures that you'll be well looked after throughout your cruise.

Sailing from either London Tilbury, Poole or Portsmouth, you can choose to set off on voyages around the British Isles or to the Baltic cities, or further north to the Norwegian fjords, where you might glimpse the dazzling Northern Lights. Whatever itinerary you choose, you’re promised all the comforts and traditions of this classic British cruise ship.

Astoria by day

On lazy days at sea, Astoria offers plenty of diversions to keep you occupied. Spread across eight passenger decks, her facilities include a two-sectioned restaurant, a selection of lounges and bars, some shops, a library and a card room.  There’s also an outdoor pool overlooked by the sun deck for balmy summer days. If you are looking for some indulgent pampering, treat yourself to a facial or a massage at the treatment room, or enjoy some rest and relaxation in the sauna and steam room.

A programme of events, published in the daily bulletin, will keep you entertained each day. Attend a talk from a guest speaker, who might discuss maritime history, broadcasting, gardens or criminology. Wherever possible, talks are arranged to take place during days spent at sea rather than in port, so that you don’t miss out. Other events include ‘An audience with…’ interviews, in which guest speakers or performers discuss their life experiences and take part in Q&A sessions, and arts and crafts classes during which you might learn the skills of jewellery making, calligraphy or mosaic decoration.

Astoria by night

Dine in the impressive, two-sectioned Olissipo Restaurant, where you can enjoy a range of British and international dishes including healthy options for the calorie-conscious. Alternatively, opt for more casual dining at the Lotus Lounge, which offers a buffet. During every cruise there will be Captain’s Welcome and Farewell parties hosted at the Olissipo Restaurant, as well as occasional themed dinners at which the menus will feature dishes and local flavours from the day’s port of call.

After dinner, retreat to one of Astoria’s five lounges and bars. Choose to head to the Calypso show lounge for an evening of glittering floor shows and cabaret, or enjoy drinks at sophisticated Sirenes piano bar. Alternatively, try your luck at the casino, enjoy a film screening at the cinema or dance into the early hours at Muses nightclub.
