Arena di Verona
The Arena di Verona, or Verona arena, was built in 30 AD but is still used today for performances, especially opera. There aren’t many more unique experiences in the world than getting the chance to see a show in this phenomenally preserved structure, so if you get an opportunity, don’t miss it.
Juliet’s balcony
Although an entirely fictional character, a visit to ‘Juliet’s balcony’ will give you the chance to see some of Verona’s very real history. The balcony, made famous by Shakespeare, actually once belonged to the powerful Cappello family, who many believe ‘Capulet’ came from.
The Adige
The Adige is the second longest river in Italy and runs through Verona. A stroll along will take you past wonderful views, excellent waterside bars, and through serene green spaces that feel a million miles away from the marble of the city.

Food and Drink in Verona

Like most of Italy the Verona locals are fiercely proud of their food, and one of the best examples of this uses two homegrown favourites: Risotto Amarone. This red-wine, rice-based dish is both filling yet delicate; an excellent meal to end the day with.
