Day One: Depart from Bristol
Board Magellan in Bristol today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.
Days Two and Three: At sea
Spend your first full days on board relaxing and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Day Four: Kollafjordur
This morning we'll anchor off the ‘stretched’ village of Kollafjordur, in the Danish outpost of the Faroes. Step ashore to explore this remote settlement, with its ancient, turf-roofed church, and don’t miss the opportunity to wander the lanes and narrow passages of the island capital, Torshavn. The Faroes are also a birdwatcher’s Paradise, home to countless species, so keep your binoculars and camera close at hand wherever you go.
Day Five: Seydisfjordur
Today Magellan arrives in Iceland, stopping in the stunning natural harbour of Seydisfjordur, one of Iceland's most beautiful coastal locations. From here ferries and a sub-ocean telephone cable connect Iceland to the outside world. Wander the streets lined with Norwegian-style houses or head inland to discover yet more breathtaking countryside.
Day Six: Akureyri
Akureyri, on Iceland's rugged north coast, is a thriving winter sports centre and home to a fascinating Botanical Garden. The area beyond is wondrously scenic, and today's excursion, to the Godafoss Falls and volcanic Lake Myvatn, will highlight many of its delights.
Day Seven: Isafjordur
This morning Magellan arrives in tiny, exquisite Isafjordur, the capital of the Westfjords area, and gateway to the magical, mystical land of West Iceland from which Norse sailors set out to discover Greenland and the New World.
Days Eight and Nine: Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the world's northernmost capital. Its brightly painted wooden buildings contrast sharply with the stunning beauty of its setting beneath Mount Ejsa. Step ashore to explore, take the lift to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visit the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum.
Days 10-11: At sea
Relax on board and relive the memories your cruis around Iceland as Magellan spends two days at sea, heading home.
Day 12: Cobh
Magellan arrives in Cork's long, narrow harbour at Cobh, this morning. Shore excursions here offer you the chance to discover this historic capital of southwest Ireland, to head into the beautiful rolling countryside to fashionable Kinsale or to visit famous Blarney Castle, just north of the city, for a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone.
Day 13: Arrive Bristol
Bid farewell to Magellan and your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
