Welcome to Amsterdam, where the picturesque canals and step-gabled buildings never fail to delight. As you explore this friendly city, why not visit the renowned Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum?

Day Three: At sea

Today is spent at sea, cruising north towards Scotland, with a host of on-board diversions and entertainment to pass the time.

Day Four: Kirkwall, Orkney

Columbus arrives in Kirkwall, Orkney’s historic capital, today. Visit the town’s magnificent centrepiece, St Magnus Cathedral, or join optional shore excursions to discover Orkney’s unique mix of history, archaeology, crafts and wildlife. A mile away, the waters of Scapa Flow, where HMS Royal Oak sunk in WW2, remain an everlasting, ever-shifting reminder of the islands’ place in history.

Day Five: At sea

Relax on board as Columbus sails on.

Day Six: Tobermory, Mull

Explore the beautiful island of Mull with its breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. The island's capital, pretty Tobermory, with its distinctive, colourful houses lining the waterfront, can't fail to delight.

Day Seven: Dublin, Ireland

Today finds Columbus in the incomparable Irish capital, city of culture and learning, and one of Europe's most engaging, vibrant cities. Take a stroll down famous Grafton and O'Connell Streets, and enjoy a pint of Guinness in one of the many cafes and pubs, popular with locals and visitors alike.

Day Eight: Cobh and Cork, Ireland

Columbus arrives in Cobh this morning. Join our optional shore excursion to discover this historic capital of southwest Ireland. Alternatively, you may wish to head into the beautiful rolling countryside beyond, to the fashionable resort of Kinsale, famed for its fine food and seafishing, or to famous Blarney Castle, just north of the city.

Today finds us in the Isles of Scilly. Columbus anchors in sheltered waters, giving you the opportunity to go ashore by tender to explore tiny Hugh Town on St Mary's, and the flower-strewn byways beyond. There is also the chance to take an optional excursion to stunning Tresco, where the world-famous Abbey Gardens house Britain's finest sub-tropical plant collection.

Day 10: St Peter Port, Guernsey

Delightful Guernsey, its by-ways strewn with springtime flowers, welcomes Columbus today. Don't miss 800 year-old Castle Cornet, which guards the entrance to the harbour, nor the medieval, cobbled central quarter of St Peter Port.
