Full Itinerary

Day One: Depart Bristol Avonmouth

Make your way to Avonmouth to embark before Marco Polo sets sail this afternoon.

Day Two: At sea

Spend today getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers as Marco Polo follows the British coastline north.

Day Three: Tobermory, Isle of Mull

Tobermory’s waterfront parade of multi-coloured houses welcomes Marco Polo to the lovely island of Mull. Explore this delightful little town, visit nearby Duart Castle or simply let the spectacular coastal scenery take your breath away.

Day Four: Ullapool, Scotland

Marco Polo arrives in the delightful Wester Ross fishing port of Ullapool, today. The town is a stepping stone to the Western Isles and the breathtaking North West Highlands, which include Torridon’s granite massifs and dramatic, remote Ben Assynt. Step ashore to explore, or take an optional excursion to discover some of Britain’s most awe-inspiring scenery.

Day Five: Kirkwall, Orkney

Today Marco Polo calls in Kirkwall, historic capital of Orkney. Wander the meandering streets and marvel at the magnificent St Magnus Cathedral, or join excursions to Scapa Flow, Churchill’s famous Barriers or the Italian Chapel, and discover the island’s unique mixture of history, archaeology, crafts and wildlife.

Day Six: Aberdeen, Scotland

This morning, Marco Polo arrives in Aberdeen, the Granite City, close to the Royal Family’s summer retreat at Balmoral. Step ashore to discover the hidden charms of one of Britain’s more remote cities, or to enjoy an excursion into the surrounding countryside, or to one or more of the famous distilleries on the Malt Whisky Trail.

Day Seven: At sea

Relax on board as Marco Polo spends another day at sea.

Day Eight: St Peter Port, Guernsey

Say a temporary farewell to the British Isles as we cross the Channel to call in Honfleur at the mouth of the Seine. Wander the streets behind the pretty harbour of this favourite retreat of the French Impressionists, or venture further afield to fashionable Deauville, historic Caen and the nearby D-Day beaches or to Monet’s delightful house and gardens at Giverny.

Day Nine: St Peter Port, Guernsey

Crowded around its busy harbour, St Peter Port is utterly charming. Fortified Castle Cornet is a must-see attraction, as are the views from Candie Gardens. Visit stunning Hauteville House, one time residence of Victor Hugo, whose exquisite interior design is preserved in the house.

Day 10: St Mary's, Isles of Scilly

The blue waters of the Scilly Isles welcome you to St Mary’s today. Here, tiny Hugh Town waits to be explored, and you’ll also have the opportunity to visit the world-famous Abbey Gardens on Tresco - where the mild winter and long summer days offer an unexpected haven for exotic plants from around the globe.

Day 11: Cobh for Cork

Early this morning, Marco Polo arrives in Cork's long, narrow harbour of Cobh. Shore excursions here offer you the chance to discover this historic capital of southwest Ireland, to head into the beautiful rolling countryside to fashionable Kinsale or to visit famous Blarney Castle, just north of the city, for a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone.

Day 12: Arrive in Bristol Avonmouth

Bid farewell to Marco Polo and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
