Itinerary

Day One

Fly to Zurich or Basel, and upon arrival make the scenic transfer to your hotel. Settle into your Black Forest surroundings, and enjoy a first dinner.

Day Two

Today you are free to rest and relax at the hotel, perhaps making use of the wellness centre's amenities. Alternatively, join the optional excursion to the beautiful spa of Baden-Baden, one of Germany's most elegant cities, with its thermal baths, stylish shopping malls and, at Christmastime, its beautiful Christkindelsmarkt,. Here you'll find scents of cinnamon, roast chestnuts and gluhwein wafting through the winter air.

You'll return to the hotel at the end of a wonderful day.

Day Three (Christmas Eve)

Join today's optional excursion to the Alsace capital Strasbourg, where one of Europe's oldest Christmas markets is held. The market takes place in the shadow of the city's magnificent cathedral, overlooking the ancient Petite France quarter of canals, covered bridges, cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings. Return to the hotel to begin your Christmas celebrations with dinner this evening.

Day Four (Christmas Day)

A memorable day begins with a morning visit to Freiburg, the region's capital, with its historic squares and great sandstone cathedral, the Munster. Stroll through the city's old town, with its medieval buildings and babbling Bachle - tiny rivulets that run alongside the cobbled streets - before returning to the hotel via the pretty lakeside resort of Titisee. A special Christmas Day meal awaits you, accompanied by traditional entertainment - a delightful way to spend the day.

Day Five

Enjoy a restful Boxing Day at your hotel. Alternatively after a leisurely breakfast join our optional excursion to the village of Hofgut Sternen, home to the largest cuckoo clock in the Bavarian Highlands and discover how these beautiful clocks are made, together with the pretty lakeside resort of Titisee.

Day Six

Bid farewell to your Black Forest hosts and transfer back to airport for the return flight.
