Itinerary

Day One

Join our coach in Dover (or Ashford - see below), cross the channel and continue to Amsterdam, where you'll board Olympia. Spend the evening settling in, or step ashore to explore the Dutch capital.

Day Two

Today is free for you to discover Amsterdam and its many highlights. Glide along the city's beautiful waterways on this morning's optional canal cruise, or step ashore to wander the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum or the Anne Frank House.

This evening, Olympia sets off on her journey south through Holland.

Day Three

You'll awake to find Olympia moored up in the great maritime city of Rotterdam, home to world-class museums and striking architecture. Spend the morning wandering its beautifully-preserved historic quarters, then perhaps join our optional visit to the UNESCO-listed village of Kinderdijk, with its historic windmills.

Day Four

Olympia arrives in the Belgian city of Ghent, this morning. Wander along the pretty cobbled streets to see great St Bavo Cathedral, which towers over the city's main square - the Baafsplein. This afternoon, perhaps join our optional excursion to beautiful Bruges, a city famous for chocolate and lace, where you'll have the chance to visit the Choco Story for a chocolate-making demonstration and to sample some delicious Belgian chocolates.

Day Five

Today brings the chance to discover Brussels, the magnificent Belgian capital. Join our included walking tour and discover the city's gastronomic glories, irreverent Manneken Pis and aptly named Grand Place of this centre of European politics. This afternoon, an optional tour brings the chance to visit the Atomium, a striking futuristic structure that's now an iconic symbol of the city.

Day Six

The ancient trading port of Antwerp, the 'Diamond Capital of the World,' offers a wealth of museums, including the studio of artist Peter Paul Rubens, as well as a fine Gothic cathedral and a bustling cafe life on the streets surrounding the vast Grote Markt. This afternoon's optional excursion visits the city's historic De Koninck brewery, where you'll have the chance to sample their delicious Belgian beer.

Day Seven

Step ashore to discover Arnhem, forever associated with 1944's Operation Market Garden. See the John Frost Bridge and Arnhem Airborne Museum in nearby Oosterbeek on this morning's optional excursion, and honour the brave men and women of the Army and the RAF who gave their lives during the epic advance here.

Olympia makes the final leg of her journey this evening, sailing back towards Amsterdam.

Further Information

Flexible joining options

Our flexible joining options allow you to travel on any date, and as an added convenience we've arranged two possible pre-departure options for you. Make your own way to the Holiday Inn Ashford North and stay the night (car parking is included), and our coach will call for you at the hotel on the way to the Channel.

Alternatively, make your own way to the Stop 24 Services in Kent (M20, Junction 11), and board the coach there. Parking is available (payable locally), and we'll confirm the exact meeting point and time in your Joining Instructions.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

Pre-paid drinks package

Spend just £17.50 per person per night, and enjoy unlimited draught beer, house wine and soft drinks (including water, tea and coffee) between 10am and midnight while on board Olympia. All other drinks are not included. The drinks package must be purchased by every person occupying a particular cabin.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Luggage

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Tipping

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.
