Full Itinerary

Day One

Join Magellan in Bristol before she sets sail. There'll be plenty of time to enjoy the ship's wonderful range of facilities and mingle with your fellow guests before retiring to your cabin.

Day Two

Spend a relaxing day at sea as Magellan heads to Normandy.

Day Three

Today you'll have the chance to explore Rouen, where you'll find the Place du Vieux-Marche, site of Saint Joan's martyrdom in 1431, the famous one-handed mechanical clock and the stunning Gothic cathedral. Alternatively, join an optional excursion to Monet's lovingly preserved house and garden at Giverny.

Day Four

Enjoy another leisurely day at sea.

Day Five

Magellan calls at Antwerp this morning. Explore this historic city - the 'Diamond Capital of the World' - with its great market square, pretty cobbled streets and fine Gothic churches, before you continue your voyage this evening.

Day Six

The delightful Dutch capital welcomes Magellan today. Step ashore to explore Amsterdam's colourful streets, picturesque canals and renowned museums. Perhaps take to the water on a canal cruise or a self-pedalled canal 'bike' before you rejoin the ship in the late afternoon.

Day Seven

Magellan reaches London Tilbury this morning.

Day Eight

Today Magellan reaches the Dutch maritime city of Rotterdam, home to world-class museums, stunning Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshaven's step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.

Day Nine

Enjoy a relaxing at sea getting to know the new passengers.

Day 10

Today you'll call at Olden, and have the chance to join an optional excursion to the famous Briksdal Glacier. Travel through sublimely beautiful countryside to find this immense cliff of ice, which is actually just one of the 50 arms of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, and governs the entire eastern reach of the Nordfjord.

Day 11

Beautiful Kristiansund is our port of call today. This beautiful town sits on a cluster of four islands, and is the starting point of the Atlantic Ocean Road - a five-mile ribbon of roads and bridges that links the islets and skerries that skirt this part of the Atlantic coast.

Day 12

Another relaxed day at sea as Magellan sails even further north.

Day 13

Magellan's next port of call is remote Alta. Spend your time skygazing - the Northern Lights are at their most astounding here - or explore the Arctic region of Finnmark, home to the indigenous Sami people, the prehistoric rock carvings at Hjemmeluft and the world-famous Ice Hotel.

Day 14

Cruise way beyond the Arctic Circle, close to the coast of Finnmark. As Magellan docks in remote Honningsvaag, you'll have the chance to join an optional excursion to the famous visitor centre at Nordkapp (North Cape), which lies almost at Europe's northernmost point.

Day 15

Today Magellan calls in Tromso, recognisable for its magnificent Arctic Cathedral that rises proudly from its bustling centre. Explore the daily market and fascinating Polarmuseum, which chronicles the lives and exploits of the likes of Amundsen and Nansen.

Day 16

Today is spent at sea, relaxing as Magellan turns south.

Day 17

Beautiful Trondheim, picturesquely set between a loop in the River Nid and stunning Trondheimsfjord, welcomes us this morning. Soak up the atmosphere of a city that was once the capital of Viking Norway. Explore the imposing Nidaros cathedral, the restored Archbishop's Palace, and the impressive Stiftsgarden, which is now a royal residence.

Day 18

Today Magellan sails into spectacular Andalsnes, and you'll have an opportunity to enjoy an excursion through some of Norway's most spectacular mountain scenery. Look out for the renowned wooden Rodven stave church in its gorgeous setting beside the fjord.

Day 19

Today we'll reach Bergen, birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Wander its cobbled streets past attractive medieval houses, visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, or take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.

Day 20

Enjoy a final day at sea, reliving the memories of a wonderful holiday.

Day 21

Disembark in Tilbury at the end of an unforgettable cruise. A complimentary coach service will transfer you back to Bristol if you wish to join.
