Board Magellan in Newcastle and settle in to your cabin. Enjoy a first dinner on board tonight.
Magellan's first point of call is the historic Tayside port-city of Dundee, where some new passengers will join us on board. There may be time to explore this engaging city, home to Captain Scott's Royal Research Ship Discovery - a beautifully restored example of the days when maritime adventures were less luxurious affairs.
Relax as Magellan spends a day at sea.
Magellan makes her way into Hardangerfjord, today. From tiny Ulvik you can step ashore to enjoy an optional excursion through the beautiful surrounding countryside. Rejoin the ship in Eidfjord, from where you might take an excursion to the famous Voringfossen waterfalls.
Skjolden, in Lustrafjord, is Magellan's destination today. From here wonderful optional shore excursions may take you into the stunning interior. Follow the spectacularly scenic ancient trading route of the Sognefjellsweg, or visit the awe-inspiring Nigardsbreen glacier, an eastern section of the massive Jostedalsbreen ice-pack.
Norwegian capital Bergen was the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Discover its cobbled streets and medieval houses, the vibrant harbour and fish market, and the wooden warehouses of Bryggen. Why not ride to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen aboard the Floibanen funicular?
Spend another day at sea, relaxing, on the return leg of your journey.
Return to Newcastle to disembark after your wonderful Norwegian cruise.
