Deck Plans

Day One

Make your own way to the ancient Rhineland town of Andernach, and join Olympia to enjoy dinner and a first night on board.

Day Two

Olympia sets sail along the mighty Rhine this morning, cruising towards the pretty wine town of Boppard - her first call. An included walking tour introduces the town's historic centre this afternoon, and this evening, with Olympia moored alongside, you can enjoy dinner and entertainment on board, or step ashore to enjoy Boppard by night.

Day Three

Olympia glides into the scenically spectacular Middle Rhine this morning. Admire the region's astounding beauty as we sail past rows of vineyards, ancient villages and the legendary Lorelei - a great slate rock that towers over a narrow gorge and, according to myth, was the site from which sirens were sounded to lure sailors to their fates.

This afternoon we reach Rudesheim, where a jumble of characterful streets dating back to the Middle Ages make up its centre. Explore the traditional taverns along the Drosselgasse street to sample locally produced wines, or join our optional excursion to see the curious collection at Siegfried's Musikkabinett and enjoy a wine tasting. Later, after dinner, perhaps head back into the town to discover Rudesheim's night-time charm.

Day Four

Spend this morning exploring the historic city of Mainz, home to a mighty six-towered cathedral and the Gutenberg Museum, named after Johannes Gutenberg who founded the printing press and resided in the city. Choose to join our optional walking tour to explore the Altstadt, then return to Olympia as she continues her journey along the Rhine this afternoon, to Koblenz.

Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and the Moselle, and overlooked by the mighty Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, Koblenz holds over 2000 years of history. Explore the Altstadt, wander along the riverfront promenade and see the Deutsche Eck, or German Corner, which marks the meeting point of the two rivers. Return to the ship this evening for dinner and entertainment on board.

Day Five

As Olympia makes the final leg of her journey, we'll pass the pretty town of Konigswinter and the city of Bonn, birthplace of Beethoven and former German capital. By early afternoon we'll reach the ancient city of Cologne, dwarfed by the twin towers of its mighty Gothic cathedral. Explore, or join our excursion into the Ahr Valley, where vineyards and pretty spa towns dot the landscape. Arriving back in Cologne later, enjoy a tour of the city's Altstadt in the company of a local guide, then explore the glittering shopping streets or cross the river to neighbouring Deutz for a classic view of the city skyline.

Round off the day with our Farewell Gala Dinner, and enjoy your final night on board sharing memories of your cruise with fellow passengers.

Day Six

Disembark Olympia this morning, and make your own way back home.

Further Information

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.
