Day One

Leaving the local area this morning we'll head to Esholt, the village used as Emmerdale from 1976 until 1998. Stop for a drink at the original Woolpack pub (payable locally), here in the village, before we continue to the hotel with a stop for dinner en route.

Day Two

After breakfast we'll head to central Leeds for the highlight of your break - a visit to the fascinating, new Emmerdale Studio Experience. Housed in ITV's Burley Road Studios, the Emmerdale Studio Experience offers you the chance to get up close to the sets of Bernice's Salon, Smithy Cottage and the Dingles' living room. See costumes and props from the show, a quarter-size replica of the village, and have your picture taken behind the bar of the Woolpack.

The Experience is divided into a number of interactive zones and as you follow them round you'll discover how sets, storylines and characters are created and brought to life using careful craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology.

After the tour we'll head into Leeds to visit the city's Christkindelmarkt - one of the largest and most established German Christmas Markets in the UK. Traditional wooden stalls offer a wealth of handcrafted goods, gifts and traditional German delicacies. Soak up the festive atmosphere amid the twinkling lights, before we begin our return journey after lunch, arriving back at your original pick-up point in the mid-to-late evening.

A lovely 2 days saying in a comfortable hotel. The coach driver and tour guide added to the experience with their fun personalities and knowledge.

we were really pleased to experience this trip. The only thing that was a disappointment was the walk from the coach to the front of the hotel with our cases. The driver sorted this out for us when we started the next day. It was a bit disappointing that the market was so small in Leeds. We had many hours there and not aware of the shopping areas. However we loved the trip to the dales and would recommend it to others.

The event was well organised. The tour operator was great company throughout our journey. The hotel was lovely. The experience itself was ok. Not what was expected as I had done the coronation street tour and we got to walk the cobbles. Emmerdale was more about how the production was made. Very good still. I recommend to all soap lovers.

Emerdale was great. Hotel was great. Coach was discussing. no water to make tea or coffee. No toilet paper and the toilet was not clean. Coach windows were so dirty could not see out.. Was told we were going to walk around emerdale village but did not go only went to the pub. German market was a waste of time. No evening meal.

The ‘Emmerdale experience’ weekend was very good value for money. The studio tour on the Monday was excellent & well managed.
The second part of the tour to ‘Esholt,’ to have a drink in the ‘Woolpack,’ was good but our stay there was too long, as there was limited things to see.
As part of the weekend we also visited Leeds Christmas market on the Sunday,
once again we found the stay a little bit too long.
I would recommend this weekend but be prepared for a long coach journey there & back!

When we arrived at the German Christmas market we were told it was the biggest in England - not the case I thought the smallest to be honest! She said we were there for 6 hours?! it only took about 10 minutes to get round the market the rest of the time spent mooching around the shops and having dinner. Not so bad for us but there were a lot of older travellers and so this was definately to long especially after being up very early and travelling straight there. A better option would have been to go to the hotel and then go to the market.

When the guide gave us the emergency mobile number number it took 2 or 3 attempts for her to get it right.

The hotel was lovely but breakfast disgusting. We had to sit at a coffee table to eat our cold breakfast as there was not room. I saw the owner and manager helping as the staff were hopeless and I saw one touching a tomato with her hands.
