Make your way to the port of Avonmouth to board Marco Polo. Settle into your cabin and enjoy your first dinner on board.
The first two days of your cruise are spent at sea. Get to know the ship and your fellow passengers, and make the most of Marco Polo's on-board amenities.
Days Two and Three
Your first call is in Bergen, an ancient city of medieval houses, cobbled streets, and the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and the fish market, stroll past historic Bryggen's wooden warehouses and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.
Today Marco Polo calls at Olden. This is the stopping-off point for a trip through the beautiful surrounding countryside to the famous Briksdal Glacier, part of the vast Jostedalsbreen ice-pack, which broods over the eastern reaches of the fjord.
Exquisite Geirangerfjord is one of the smallest but most beautiful fjords, its twists and turns marked by crashing waterfalls and ancient and beguiling villages Hellesylt and Geiranger. Disembark in Geiranger to take in the beauty of it all, or Hellesylt to enjoy an unforgettable overland excursion through the glorious scenery of the fjord and its surroundings.
Flam welcomes Marco Polo today, where you'll have the opportunity to board the world-famous Flamsbana Mountain Railway for the journey to Myrdal. Later this evening, the ship navigates her way through stunning Sognefjord.
The prosperous former fishing capital of Stavanger, its sleek modern buildings contrasting with the white-painted, clapboard houses of its old town, is Marco Polo's final Norwegian landfall. Step ashore to wander before we enjoy the breathtaking passage though Lysefjord, where the towering Preikestolen rock formation soars above the waters.
Your final two days will be spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories of your cruise with your fellow passengers.
Bid farewell to Marco Polo and your fellow travellers, as you disembark in Cardiff at the end of a wonderful cruise. A coach transfer back to Bristol is available (payable locally).
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.
