Amsterdam Coach Trip Itinerary

Day One: Coach travel to Holland

Leaving the local area in the early morning we travel to Dover or Folkestone for our Channel crossing, arriving at our hotel by mid evening.

Day Two: Optional Amsterdam canal cruise

This morning we'll head to Amsterdam. Visit the Royal Palace, the renowned Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh Museum, and wander the cobbled streets and bridges in search of little markets and interesting shops and stores, or join our optional excursion to Volendam. Explore this traditional Markermeer fishing village, and visit a local cheese farm and clog-making shoe factory.

In the afternoon, why not join our optional Amsterdam canal cruise to see the step-gabled buildings that line the three 'grand' canals: the Herengracht, Prisengracht and Keizersgracht? Some house cosy pubs, others shops, others elegant, half-hidden hotels - but most are home to residents of this beautiful, cosmopolitan city.

Day Three: Included Zundert Flower Parade excursion

After breakfast we'll head to the small town of Zundert, birthplace of Vincent Van Gogh, for your visit to Europe's oldest Flower Parade. Each of the hamlets surrounding the town designs and builds its own float, grows the thousands of dahlias needed to cover it and competes for the coveted Best in Parade prize.

From the comfortable viewpoint of your reserved seat you'll see the huge, complex flower sculptures parade through town as a carnival atmosphere fills the streets. And you'll have time to enjoy an early dinner here (payable locally) before we return to the hotel.

Day Four: Travel home

Today we'll head home, travelling to Calais for a mid-afternoon Channel crossing, and arriving back at your original pick-up point by late evening.

Amsterdam and Zundert Area Hotel ★★★

You will be staying at a carefully chosen three-star standard hotel within a convenient coach journey of both Zundert and Amsterdam. Bedrooms in all the hotels are comfortably furnished, and all offer private facilities. All hotels will also have good restaurant and bar facilities.

Further Information

Coach seating arrangements

Your seats on the main coach will be allocated for you in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible. Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meet at port option

To give you greater flexibility and allow you to travel on the date that suits you best, you may like to meet the coach at Folkestone Services (called Stop 24) on the M20, which is just a five-minute drive from the Channel Tunnel and a 15-minute drive from Dover. If you wish to do this, please select the county 'Kent' and the pick-up point 'Stop 24 Folkestone Services Saltwood' when booking. You will be notified of the exact pick-up location in your Final Travel Details, which you will receive approximately 7-10 days prior to departure. Further information and car parking charges can be found at www.stop24.co.uk

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Triple rooms

The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

An excellent few days holiday. Colin, our driver and Miggs our tour Manager worked well together to provide us with a smooth journey. Good general information, along with just the right amount of humour, was given to us regarding any stops, timings, visits and excursions. We were not constantly being bombarded with unnecessary chat or music which we appreciated.
We were initially drawn to seeing the Zundert Flower Parade but also thought this break would be a good way to have a very small taster of the region and it did just that. We were given options of having free time or join excursions for one of the days which allowed for everyone to choose what suited them best.
The only negative point was my coach seat belt was uncomfortably tight and the let down tray and hook certainly hadn't been cleaned prior to us getting on the coach. Chewing gum was stuck to the hook! On my mentioning this Colin did his best to clean it off.
Overall a tour to be recommended.

Overall very good. because of early ferry on Monday guide pulled in Brugge on Friday - to much as we didn't arrive at hotel until 11.00pm.
Feel that Holland is far enough without having to call at other places.
Hotel okay, but under staffed

the hotel was average, expensive food, had to dine out most evenings. trip to flower festival was good but the distance from the coach park to seating area took quite a while, not good for anyone not very mobile. homeward journey not good, stop at bruges was not really necessary, a lot of people did not want this, we were told there was a café by bus park, but it was closed,so had another walk to find a coffee, while we waited for the few people who ventured into bruges itself. the trip from dover to home was very long, especially considering we were some the last people to get off, having to wait for a change of driver en-route and the fact the driver was not sure of the route and was dropping people off near their homes instead of the allocated drop offs.this made for a disappointing break
