Day One

Make your way down to London on Friday. Your hotel room will be ready from about 2pm, but you may be able to leave your bags with the porter if it is not ready when you arrive. Spend the rest of the day discovering London's shops and sights, and perhaps enjoy an early evening meal, before the taking your seat in the Apollo Shaftesbury Avenue as the events of 'The Go-Between' unfold on stage.

As Crawford's Leo rediscovers his diary from the summer of 1900 and drifts into reverie "dialogue and song flow together in one seamless, spellbinding whole, full of pulsing warmth". If the critical response to the original West Yorkshire Playhouse production is any guide you'll enjoy an evening of enchanting storytelling and unforgettable new music.

No tour manager or Tranfer arrangements to or from the theatre despite being advertised as transport being provided after the show back to The Holiday Inn. However, hotel excellent, clean and best hotel breakfast we've ever had. The show was very well acted. Not the usual "musical" but nonetheless enjoyable. Overall w had are at time.

The London Theatre break was excellent. The hotel was in a perfect location, the rooms were extremely clean and the food and service were first class. The performance at the Apollo was very entertaining. The most important comment that I wish to make is to congratulate the staff at Newmarket Holidays. There was a minor problem prior to our departure but this was handled most courteously by Rebecca, who should be congratulated on her excellent customer service skills. I have already recommended Newmarket Holidays to friends and colleagues. Thank you for a most enjoyable short break. Please put me on your mailing list to receive details of other offers.

We made our own way to London. The Tourguide was supposed to meet us with transfers from the hotel to the theatre. There were several of us waiting. No show, so we all jumped into of the ladies was on crutches, and my friend and I felt we had to make sure she got back to the hotel after the show safely. This spoil tour evening as we would have liked to hang around the theatre area a bit longer. No bus was available to take us back to the hotel either. Not impressed.
