Day One

Fly to Dubrovnik, and upon arrival, meet your tour manager and make the scenic transfer by coach (approximately three hours) to the Bluesun Hotel Alga, your holiday base. Enjoy dinner in the hotel this evening, and your first night under the Mediterranean stars.

Day Two

Today is free to rest and relax after the journey, to enjoy all the facilities of the hotel, or simply to laze by the pool or on the stretch of white pebble beach. Tucepi, set between the warm, blue waters of the Adriatic and the ridge of Mount Biokovo, and with views out towards the offshore islands, is a delightful base, with a selection of bars, cafes and tavernas, as well as some beautiful gardens.

Day Three

A first included excursion journeys to nearby Orebic, a pleasant coastal resort, before a short crossing brings you to verdant Korcula and its picture-postcard perfect-fortified main town. Birthplace, legend has it, of explorer Marco Polo, Korcula Town is a medieval gem, its tiny core of narrow streets surrounded by crumbling battlements. Enjoy a guided walking tour and visit the beautiful cathedral, then perhaps take a seat in a cafe to soak up the atmosphere before returning to the mainland.

Day Four

Another free day in which to rest and relax, or to join the optional excursion to the beautiful Krka National Park, with its lakes and waterfalls. Take in delightful harbour town Skradin, enjoy an included boat trip to the foot of the plunging cascade at Skradinski, and take a stroll through the park's verdant forest, before returning to the hotel.

Day Five

On today's included tour, journey to Croatia's historic, vibrant second city Split, where highlights include the colourful Old Town and the crumbling ruins of the palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian, then visit exquisite walled, island-town Trogir, with its narrow streets crowned by its Romanesque cathedral, and delightful seafront promenade encircling a time-warped jumble of palaces, ancient churches and hidden courtyards.

Day Six

Today is free to enjoy all the pleasures of the hotel or beach. The energetic might head to the nearby sports centre for a game of tennis (payable locally), while others might take a stroll along the shore to Makarska Town, perhaps returning by bus or taxi.

Day Seven

Perhaps saving the best till last, today is spent 'at sea', cruising the blue waters on an included boat trip. Calls are made at Brac, Croatia's third largest island, with its beaches, clear waters and sleepy main town Supetar, and at celebrated offshore island Hvar, a verdant, lush paradise, topped by a rocky ridge. Another highlight of a wonderful day is the traditional 'Fish Picnic' prepared by the boat's captain and crew.

Day Eight

Bid farewell to the hotel and Tucepi, as you make the scenic transfer back to Dubrovnik Airport and the return flight, at the end of a truly wonderful holiday.

Further Information

Hotel transfer times

The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately three hours.

Combining hotel transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Changes to your hotels

Should circumstances require, we reserve the right to accommodate you in alternative hotels, of a similar standard, nearby. Full details of your hotels will be sent with your Final Travel Documents.

Airport development fees

An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.

*Low deposit of £49 per person applies to new bookings made between 21st June and 31st July 2017 (inclusive) only. This offer only applies to selected air-inclusive holidays. This offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.

We enjoyed a very good week in Podgora . The hotel was very good , a good breakfast buffet but the evening dinner menu was poor . Some of the chefs could do with some more training and the whole setup needed replanning .

Problems with flight bookings as another unknown person was included by Newmarket Holiday in our party resulting in that other person being seated next to me and my wife seated many rows away. This was resolved by amicable discussion with the other person but neither Newmarket holidays or Jet2 would change the seating arrangements.

We received a letter from Newmarket Holidays a few days before departure to say that our hotel had been changed from the Bluesun Alga at Tucepi to the Medora Auri at Podgora.

The Medora Auri was a very nice hotel and we had a very nice stay there. However we were told by Newmarket Holidays that the reason for the change was that the Bluesun Alga was closed for "ongoing construction work and not scheduled to open until early July". This was clearly not the case as the Bluesun Alga was open and fully booked during the period of our holiday. I am not complaining about the change but please do not use excuses to cover what is almost certainly an over-booking problem.

Scotland Couple
Gorgeous scenery, beautiful weather. People very friendly. Hotel immaculate in a great location. Only negative really was the long journey in the coach on arrival to get to the resort and the first excursion was the same journey back again. There is a closer airport but I assume there is a reason why this can't be used.

Very enjoyable but getting to destinations hot and tiring , very hot in coach. Transfer from Dubrovnik too long would be better if flying in to Split. Excellent resort and hotel.

Transfer to our hotel was appalling. We left home at 2.00 a.m. for flight at 6.00 a.m. expecting to be at our hotel at approx. 11.00 a.m but we did not arrive until 6.00 p.m. therefore a wasted day and very very tiring. We hadn't been told about the delay at the airport nor about customs between borders. The included visits - we spent more time on the coach than we did at the places of interest. The hotel food was average but when we arrived late for breakfast on the first morning (after our horrendous journey) we were made to feel we were a nuisance.

I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday and first experience of Croatia. Hotel was brilliant, room, food, staff, everything. Where optional trip is bookable at least 10 days prior to commencement of holiday, I strongly advise this is done.
