Full Itinerary

Day One

Board Astoria in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.

Day Two

Spend the day exploring Amsterdam's canals, flower markets and museums. Wander the cobbled streets, or take to the water on a canal cruise.

Day Three

Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.

Day Four

Today Astoria arrives in Kirkwall, Orkney's historic capital. Wander the streets and marvel at magnificent St Magnus Cathedral, or join an excursion to fabled Scapa Flow, Churchill's famous Barriers or the Italian Chapel.

Day Five

Today Astoria arrives in the Western Isles, to anchor off Stornoway, capital of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides. These beautiful, unspoiled islands have been inhabited for over 6000 years. Explore the town, or take the excursion to Callanish's mysterious Standing Stones, thought to be nearly 4000 years old.

Day Six

The small town of Tobermory on the beautiful island of Mull, with its picturesque, multi-coloured houses encircling the waterfront, is a delightful place to explore, as is nearby Duart Castle, the famous seat of Clan Maclean.

Day Seven

Relax as Astoria spends another day at sea.

Day Eight

This morning finds us in the Isles of Scilly. Astoria anchors here in, giving you the opportunity to go ashore to explore Hugh Town on St Mary's, the flower-strewn byways beyond, and stunning Tresco, where the famous Abbey Gardens house Britain's finest subtropical plant collection.

Day Nine

Guernsey's St Peter Port welcomes us this morning. See 800-year-old Castle Cornet, which guards the entrance to the harbour, wander the cobbled central quarter and make the most of the island's tax-free shopping.

Day 10

Crossing the Channel completely, our next port of call is Honfleur at the mouth of the Seine. Wander the streets behind the pretty harbour, or perhaps join an optional excursion to Monet's delightful house and gardens at Giverny.

Day 11

Bid farewell to Astoria and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.

An excellent cruise - unfortunately the weather forced the Captain (quite correctly) to change the itinerary. We would have preferred the original Honfleur to Dublin but passenger safety comes first.

DENISE

St. Neots, Cambs. Couple
Itinerary had to be changed due to weather which was understandable. Most excursions were good but the one in Dublin was very poor and not value for money. Entertainment was nowhere near the standard seen on other ships. The band were good and dancers improved throughout the week. However, singers were very disappointing. Food very good and restaurant staff excellent.

Astoria is a great cruise ship and I trust she continues to give sterling service for many years. The ports of call were excellent and the captain and crew looked after us exteremely well but it would have been better to feel the crew were working more as a team together, rather than individually.

WINIFRED

Hertfordshire Friends
When arriving at Tilbury we were informed that she was the oldest cruise ship still in use. This showed itself in some lovely artdeco fittings but it was apparent in the fact that she was looking tired i e curtains falling off in cabin, carpet stained and a roaring cold draught through door and window. Blanket old and badly pilled and bad vibrations felt though head and body while in bed.
Although there were five courses on offer at dinner, they were very small portions and, although not a hugh eater I needed to eat all courses in order not to feel hungry.
Gave up on hot breakfast as it was not well cooked, although their was plenty of fruit and continental choices.
