Full Itinerary

Day One

Board Columbus in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.

Day Two

Spend the day exploring Amsterdam's canals, flower markets and museums. Wander the cobbled streets, or take to the water on a canal cruise.

Days Three to Five

Spend the next few days relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.

Day Six

Spend today in the very British outpost of Gibraltar in the shadow of the famous Rock. Search out a bargain on Main Street, or take a cable car to the heights above to see the famous Barbary Apes, and the views across the Straits to North Africa and the Atlas Mountains.

Day Seven

Relax on board as Columbus spends another day at sea.

Day Eight

Today Columbus ties up in the Las Palmas, Gran Canaria's principal port. Step ashore to explore the bustling metropolis of modern Puerto de la Luz, or head to the palm-fringed squares of the old town, Vegueta, and perhaps take a shore excursion inland for some superb views.

Day Nine

The next of our Canaries calls is Arrecife, capital of Lanzarote, where black sand beaches fringe warm waters. You'll have the chance to head to 'fire mountain' and to take a camel ride to the edge of a volcano.

Day 10

Today's call is sun-kissed Santa Cruz, principal port of the famous holiday isle of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands.

Day 11

Madeira is one of the world's most beautiful islands: a sub-tropical paradise, home to some of the most colourful and exotic flora on Earth. Explore the island capital, Funchal, or dare the exhilaration of a wickerwork 'toboggan' ride from Monte to Livramento.

Day 12

Relax on board as Columbus spends another day at sea.

Day 13

The Portuguese capital Lisbon is Columbus's final port. Stroll the narrow streets of the Alfama district, and climb aboard one of the city's famous trams. See the extraordinary Manueline architecture of the Belem quarter, and the striking modern buildings of the Baixa.

Days 14-15

A final few days are spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Columbus heads for home.

Day 16

Bid farewell to Columbus and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.

Overall it was a good holiday, the staff cabin and food was excellent. But the noise level on board the ship at times was too loud and there is NO area to go if you want peace and quiet.

Sun loungers were quite often reservered early in the morning and not used until later in the day, even though it was stated you can not reserve them.

It is the little things that make a difference, and this could of been an excellent holiday all round.

This was our first cruise and we had a great time on the whole. We had only two disappointments, the first being what I dare say is the old issue of people reserving sun-loungers, often before going for a long breakfast. There was a standard note in the daily hand-sheet stating this wasn't allowed but it was evidently widely ignored. In the end we had to employ an `if you cant beat them...` approach. The only other was the relatively short time we were able to spend on shore at some locations - 4 hours in Tenerife for example! Other than that we enjoyed ourselves, the entertainment in particular was ( mostly ) great - Raul was an absolute star!

Overall good but some of the tour guides need to learn to draw breath and put some passion into their voices or else just becomes a drone and you just switch off or want to tell them please stop talking sometimes
Also difficult to hear announcements without opening cabin door

We felt a long time was spent at sea - with very limited time at the various destinations.

Whilst experiencing amazing evening entertainment on board we were disappointed
that at times the backing music to the various performers (singers/musicians - solo acts) was too loud, rather overpowering the performances.
