Full Itinerary

Day One

Board Astoria in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.

Day Two

Spend the day exploring Amsterdam's canals, flower markets and museums. Wander the cobbled streets, or take to the water on a canal cruise.

Day Three

Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.

Day Four

This morning Astoria docks in Bergen. This ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses was the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.

Day Five

Astoria cruises into beautiful Romsdalsfjord and Andalsnes, today. From here, there's the opportunity to enjoy an excursion through some of Norway's most spectacular mountain scenery, and perhaps a chance to visit the famous wooden Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting beside the fjord.

Day Six

Relax on board as Astoria spends another day at sea.

Day Seven

Tromso's magnificent 'Arctic Cathedral' rises grandly from its bustling centre. Step ashore to explore the daily market and the fascinating Polarmuseum, which chronicles the lives and exploits of the likes of Amundsen and Nansen.

Day Eight

Today Astoria docks in the pretty, remote village of Honningsvaag. Join an optional excursion to the famous visitor centre at Nordkapp, almost at Europe's northernmost point. You'll return to the ship, passing Europe's true north tip at Knivskjellodden, before Astoria continues south.

Day Nine

Astoria's next port of call is remote Alta. Spend two days sky-gazing at your leisure here, where the Northern Lights are at their most astounding. Explore the Arctic region of Finnmark (home to the indigenous Sami people, the prehistoric rock carvings at Hjemmeluft and the famous Ice Hotel) on one of our exciting optional excursions.

Days 10-11

Relax on board as Astoria spends another two days at sea.

Day 12

Astoria's next port is Alesund. Here you'll find a beautiful natural harbour, a waterfront lined with tall, pastel-painted buildings, and insights into the history and heritage of the region on a visit to the fascinating Sunnmore Museum.

Day 13

The former fishing capital of Stavanger greets Astoria today. Step ashore to wander through harbour-side Torget, and this afternoon enjoy the breathtaking passage though Lysefjord.

Day 14

A final day is spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Astoria heads for home.

Day 15

Bid farewell to Astoria and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.

A small ship with a great heart, The food was average but not 5 star, Could have done with a bit more room for hanging clothes, Good bathroom, Food areas good, Dancers and singers much better than we expected. The other shows were good especially the Magic couple. The North Sea was rather rough at times, but you cant do anything about that.

This was the worst cruise I have been on. The food was never more than lukewarm, there was only one 4 slice toaster in the buffet and only one hot water urn so there were queues all of the time. Our cabin porthole was kept closed most of the cruise even when the ship was in port, very disappointing as we had paid extra for a porthole so that we had some natural light coming in. Newmarket and Cruise and Maritime did not see these disappointments as genuine problems but they spoiled our holiday immensely and therefore we have decided not to book another cruise or package holiday with them again.
