Full Itinerary

Day One

Board Magellan in Liverpool today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.

Day Two

Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.

Day Three

Our first port is the Shetland capital, Lerwick. Spend time exploring this rugged but enchanting town, or join an excursion to the 3,000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.

Day Four

Tiny, Toytown-like Torshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. Explore its confusion of lanes, narrow passages and black-tarred houses with green turf on the roofs, or join an excursion, perhaps to cross the famous Bridge across the Atlantic connecting the main island of Streymoy with the spectacular scenery and ancient wooden churches of smaller Eysturoy.

Day Five

Today Magellan arrives in the stunning natural harbour of Seydisfjordur, one of Iceland's most beautiful coastal locations and the cultural capital of east Iceland.

Day Six

Akureyri, on Iceland's rugged north coast, is a thriving winter sports centre and home to a fascinating Botanical Garden. The area beyond is wondrously scenic, and today's excursion, to the Godafoss Falls and volcanic Lake Myvatn, will highlight many of its delights.

Day Seven

This morning Magellan arrives in tiny, exquisite Isafjordur, the capital of the Westfjords area, and gateway to the magical, mystical land of West Iceland from which Norse sailors set out to discover Greenland and the New World.

Days Eight and Nine

Reykjavik is the world's northernmost capital. Its brightly painted wooden buildings contrast sharply with the stunning beauty of its setting beneath Mount Ejsa. Step ashore to explore, take the lift to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visit the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum.

Days 10-11

Relax on board as Magellan spends another two days at sea.

Day 12

Today Magellan arrives in Dublin. This great city of culture, once home to Joyce, Yeats, Wilde and Swift, is one of Europe's most engaging capitals. Grafton and O'Connell Streets are popular with visitors, as are the city's famous bars and pubs, cafes and coffee shops.

Day 13

Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.

Great holiday - a couple of issues with the ship but this was outweighed by the good stuff. Our cabin had a smell of fumes fairly frequently and the entertainment was poor - but otherwise all very good. Food was fine, staff in all areas were very obliging,

Overall The Cruise was well organised and the Service was very good especially by the Cabin Stewart and the Reception. Meals were very good and the Port Visits and Excursions were well organised.

Slightly disappointed that My Cabin had aPort Hole and and not a Window as I had requested prior to the Cruise and for which I had paid more than the Standard cost.. When I mentioned it at the Reception the Receptionist told me that were no Windows in the Cabins on Deck 5. I was therefore surprised to notice when I passed two Cabins on DEck 5 which had the Main Door s open that they both had Windows.
