Itinerary

Day One

We'll leave the local area this morning, and head towards Warwickshire, arriving at your hotel in good time for you to rest and relax before dinner.

Day Two

Oxford, home to one of the world's greatest and most historic universities, has been a centre of scholarship for over 800 years. Visit the Great Hall in Christ Church - the inspiration for Hogwarts' Hall in the Harry Potter films or Magdalen College - its landmark tower dominating the High Street. Discover the treasures of the Ashmolean Museum, browse the covered market, take a stroll along the river or simply relax over a meal in the iconic Grand Cafe.

Day Three

Today we head into the gently rolling hills and ancient woodlands of the Cotswolds. Browse the shops in delightful Moreton-in-Marsh. Wander along one of the longest high streets in England, lined with a delightful mix of Tudor, Stuart and Georgian buildings, in Broadway. And stroll the streets of Bourton-on-the Water, with its attractive low bridges across the River Windrush.

Day Four

This morning we'll visit the Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company. In the company of a friendly guide you'll learn how this fine bone china is made, and watch craftsmen hand-paint each piece.

Our next stop will be Lichfield. Visit its magnificent, three-spired cathedral, browse the interesting shops that line the city's narrow medieval alleyways, and perhaps find out about the life and work of Lichfield's famous son Samuel Johnson.

Day Five

We head for home, today, arriving back in the local area by early to mid evening.
