Itinerary

Day One

We'll leave the local area this morning, and head towards Warwickshire, arriving at your hotel in good time for you to rest and relax before dinner.

Day Two

Oxford, home to one of the world's greatest and most historic universities, has been a centre of scholarship for over 800 years. Visit the Great Hall in Christ Church - the inspiration for Hogwarts' Hall in the Harry Potter films or Magdalen College - its landmark tower dominating the High Street. Discover the treasures of the Ashmolean Museum, browse the covered market, take a stroll along the river or simply relax over a meal in the iconic Grand Cafe.

Day Three

Today we head into the gently rolling hills and ancient woodlands of the Cotswolds. Browse the shops in delightful Moreton-in-Marsh. Wander along one of the longest high streets in England, lined with a delightful mix of Tudor, Stuart and Georgian buildings, in Broadway. And stroll the streets of Bourton-on-the Water, with its attractive low bridges across the River Windrush.

Day Four

This morning we'll visit the Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company. In the company of a friendly guide you'll learn how this fine bone china is made, and watch craftsmen hand-paint each piece.

Our next stop will be Lichfield. Visit its magnificent, three-spired cathedral, browse the interesting shops that line the city's narrow medieval alleyways, and perhaps find out about the life and work of Lichfield's famous son Samuel Johnson.

Day Five

We head for home, today, arriving back in the local area by early to mid evening.

The hotel was not very good. Twin bed room had beds which were too small. The bed linen on my bed did not fit therefore you could see mattress!! Duvets had seen better days and had no filling in them. My friend and I had no hot water for 2 days, and when we did we had to run taps for 5 minutes to get it. Hotel employee told us we were on the end of the run and it was out of their hands!! Coach parties were given very late evening meal sittings, which for some people 7.30 to 8pm is too late. By that time the buffet style meals had been sitting there for hours and in some items had run out. Although daily menus were on the wall these were not kept to, it appeared that whatever meat was left from the carvery was made into a pie the following day, so no variance in food. You also had a job if you requested something that had run out like white bread, this happened to me, I am unable to digest brown bread but the trouble I had one evening getting either a white roll or a couple of slices of white bread to have with my soup was painful, I asked what should I do to a very unhelpful waitress, her reply to me was have salad!!! After another guest complained to the Restaurant Manager I did receive a white roll, but after that another waitress came up to our table with six slices of white bread on a plate, very rude.
I would not ever think about a return to this establishment and the comments on various sites including Trip Advisor and correct in every way. The room lighting was not enough which strained the eyes, and the tv was so small you could barely see it.

Excellent pick-up service, solid itinerary, good value. Large crowds in Oxford and Cotswold for the Oct 3 tour, but we managed well. Hotel rooms at Royal Court in Coventry were large and clean.

Every departure and pick-up was on time and we enjoyed each days' itinerary. Our bus was new and our tour manager and driver took extra care for all of the passengers.

Outside of the evening meals at the restaurant (high carbohydrate buffet) we really enjoyed this tour.
