Itinerary

Day One

This morning we'll journey by coach from your pick-up point to Salisbury. As well as its famous and historic cathedral the city boasts a wonderful Christmas market offering handmade crafts and gifts from around the UK, into Europe and beyond. Soak up the atmosphere by the bandstand enjoying a glass of mulled wine or a bratwurst, as school children sing classic carols and local musicians and performers entertain you.

After a few hours to explore, we'll continue to our overnight hotel.

Day Two

Longleat House, set within 900-acres of 'Capability Brown' landscaped gardens and one of the country's finest examples of Elizabethan architecture, is transformed every Christmas. See some of your favourite festive characters - from Cinderella to Scrooge - in residence, explore and perhaps add your special Christmas wishes to the magical Wishing Tree.

From the comfort of your coach you'll enjoy animal encounters on a winter safari, and then join the crowds for Longleat's festive Festival of Light to see over 30 acres of illuminations arranged in a spectacular display that includes giant Chinese lanterns, hand-crafted dragons and larger-than-life recreations of some of the Safari Park's famous animals.

We'll begin our journey home in the early evening, arriving back at your pick-up point later that night.

Family
This trip could have been a lot better if we didn't have quite so long at each place. Salisbury Christmas market was disappointing and we had hours... and hours... there on a Sunday. The market and all of the shops closed at 4pm but we had to hang about until 6.30pm to be collected.
The hotel was clean and adequate, Facilities were fine. Good showers and breakfast.
Longleat was great but unsurpisingly very busy for the time of year. Again we were there for hours and hours..... and hours. There are inadequate facilities at Longleat to cope with these huge numbers of visitors. Trying to find somewhere for my elderly relatives to be able to sit down, anywhere, was a bit of an issue. Very hard to eat anything other than fried food too.
The safari and festival of lights were spectacular along with the singing Christmas tree. Would have been an excellent trip apart from the fact that we were in each place the sights for hours and hours.... and hours. It was a bit of an endurance test.
Coach driver was a good sport and the tour manager was friendly
