Full Itinerary

Day One

Board Magellan in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.

Day Two

Spend the day exploring Amsterdam's canals, flower markets and museums. Wander the cobbled streets, or take to the water on a canal cruise.

Day Three and Four

After a morning at sea, Magellan arrives in the great German port-city of Hamburg for an overnight stay. Head ashore to soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant metropolis, or enjoy an evening on board before Magellan sets sail late tonight.

Day Five

Relax on board as Magellan spends another day at sea.

Day Six and Seven

Stylish Copenhagen, home to the famous Tivoli Gardens and forever associated with Hans Christian Andersen, is a marvellous city. Join the optional shore excursion to discover the world famous Little Mermaid, the Royal Palace and the grand stores that line the Stroget as Magellan spends the night here.

Day Eight

Our final Danish port is Aalborg. Explore the old town's 17th-century castle and painted buildings, or join an optional excursion to the Viking burial site at Lindholm Hoje. Aalborg is also the home of Aquavit, and a visit to the distillery and museum provides another enjoyable diversion.

Day Nine

A final day is spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Magellan heads for home.

Day 10

Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.

We booked this holiday because it was going to Hamburg. There is a wonderful model railway display in a warehouse there that my husband wanted to see.
A bonus for me was getting to play bridge with a "Mr Bridge" group.
We enjoyed revisiting Amsterdam and Copenhagen. We didn't do any of the organised trips apart from the Viking experience in Aarlborg- a very interesting 1/2 day partly due to our informative and friendly guide.

Norwich Couple
This trip was taken in October and we did experience a mixture of weather. The ship crew were very professional and welcoming. The service in the restaurant was top notch and the food was excellent from all outlets. Our cabin was spacious and the cabin service team were proficient and friendly. We loved the ports of call and the sometimes chilly weather was not a problem on our trip. Be prepared for high prices in Denmark for food and drink when ashore.

Very enjoyable. Staff obliging and friendly. Much impressed with the shows and gardening talks.

No trouble with the rocking of the ship as we were in the middle , which moves the least!

A nice cruise all in all. Just a lot of industry on the approaches to Amsterdam, Hamburg and Alborg. Ship is just fine as are the crew.
In future I would prefer to stay away from industrialised cities.
