Further Information

European Christmas closing times

Shops in Europe will generally be closed from early afternoon on Christmas Eve until 27th December.

Coach seating arrangements

Your Tour Manager will have allocated seats for you on the main coach in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible, and will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Your journey

Depending on your departure point, you may leave your pick-up point very early in the morning and return very late at the end of the holiday, in order to meet your scheduled Channel crossing. There will also be a stop to transfer you from a feeder coach to your main coach, on both the outward and return journeys.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Triple rooms

The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.

Ferry/Eurotunnel crossings

Your Channel crossings will either be by ferry or Eurotunnel and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.

Single traveller
the hotel and resort was lovely, food enjoyable and staff helpful and pleasant
the outward bound ferry arrangements spoilt a big chunk of the holiday,my local pickup on the day of departure was 0.500 which is unavoidable BUT with the unacceptable delay at Dover(which we heard eventually was because a luxury coach company called Ledgers/Legers being fast tracked this resulted in arriving in Beaune at 0.100 the next morning-too much l'm afraid.

Hello Maureen, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your time in Italy but are very sorry that your outward journey was so delayed. This was entirely out of our control but we can certainly appreciate that it was very frustrating for all.

Hastings Couple
Diana Grand excellently situated right on beach. Our room had balcony overlooking beach.
No tea/coffee making facilities in hotel rooms at Diana Grand.
Evening entertainment could be improved over Christmas period. Not always offered.
Coach could have been more festively decorated for the season.

Drivers and tour manager very good.
Hotel excellent service and cleanliness too.
Our feeder coach did not turn up so we were stood in the cold and rain at 3am until 4.30. Ferry was delayed due to weather conditions which led to everything being late so arrived at stop over at 1.15am. Then another day of eight hours travel so arrived at Allisio with 5 minutes to spare before the dining room closed.

Hi Susan, we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed your stay in the hotel but are sorry for the knock on effect caused by the ferry delay. It must have been very frustrating for everyone concerned and we hope that it won't deter you from choosing Newmarket again in the future.

Essex Couple
Visits to San Remo & Ventimiglia Market
At the Alassio Hotel we were promised Dancing, Games, etc. but they didn't happen. There was also an error with the Xmas day lunch so we all agreed to have pasta AND had to pay for it! The French hotel stopover was abysmal. The 3 hour delay by Eurotunnel was not our fault but they showed their displeasure at us arriving late - unacceptable attitude for a hotel, bearing in mind they only had a few guests anyway! To make things easier for the hotel on return we all agreed our meals beforehand and informed the hotel in advance. Upon arrival we were told they had changed the menu and didn't bother telling the tour manager. We were told we would get soup as salad, vegetarian was fish, etc etc. bloody awful and their attitude didn't help either. They couldn't be bothered to bring out the cereal for breakfast, so hard boiled eggs, 1 slice of ham as they put up a notice telling us not to take more than 1 slice, croissant and coffee. Had to get the staff to refill the hot water jug and the milk jug twice as there was no staff present during breakfast and they had to be hunted down. The inbound was bad enough but the outbound was absolutely ridiculous!

East anglia Couple
Hotel Del Fiore in Alassio - the accommodation, the staff, the food, the location.
Travel time spent in the coach much longer than expected - a full 2 days and 1 night to reach there.
Coach not particularly comfortable.
Communication from tour leader poor.
Would not have booked 2 full day excursions if we had realised how long the journey would take.
French hotel did their best but weren't really geared up to coping with the numbers involved.
Lack of facilities at "hub" 24.

Alassio is a good destination, interesting to explore. Pleasant hotel and staff
Travelling did not run smoothly, too many delays. Coach not high standard. Tour guide did not give detailed information to everyone soon enough.her rapport with the group was poor too big an age gap. Entertainment at hotel pathetic. More needed from the leader. It was the festive season after all. very dissatisfied with overnight stop poor food and like a motel not a hotel.
