Day One

Travel by coach from your selected pick-up point, cross the Channel, and continue to join Olympia in Andernach. Enjoy a first meal on board, and settle into your cabin before Olympia sets sail.

Day Two

Enjoy a wonderful, scenic cruise past Koblenz and into the Moselle, today. By early afternoon, Olympia will have moored in delightful Cochem, nestled beneath the Reichsburg's fairytale turrets. Explore the town, or join this afternoon's optional shore excursion to discover the castle and its secrets.

This evening, enjoy dinner and entertainment on board, then step ashore in beautiful Cochem and perhaps join us for an optional wine tasting as Olympia moors here overnight.

Day Three

Today, Olympia heads through a landscape of vineyards and fields to pretty Traben-Trarbach where she moors for the night. Join our optional afternoon coach excursion and discover more of the Moselle Valley and its winemaking villages as you travel the breathtaking route of the Mosel Weinstrasse.

Day Four

After a scenic morning cruise, Olympia will arrive in the twin town of Bernkastel-Kues. Discover this famous wine town on our walking tour, with its ancient, half-timbered houses surrounding the central square, and perhaps visit the ruins of the Burg Landshut to enjoy the spectacular view of the river.

Day Five

Boasting the finest collection of Roman remains north of the Alps, Trier is Germany's oldest settlement. Today's optional excursion will take you to the city by coach. Enjoy our optional walking tour, and don't miss the birthplace of Karl Marx and the imposing Dom cathedral.

This afternoon Olympia sails from Bernkastel-Kues, beginning her return journey downriver as you enjoy dinner and entertainment on board.

Day Six

This morning, Olympia arrives in historic Koblenz. Enjoy a guided tour of the town as you wander through the pretty altstadt (old town) or along the riverfront promenade, before re-boarding the ship and continuing to Andernach, where you'll have the opportunity to go ashore.

This evening, enjoy a special Farewell Dinner while Olympia cruises gently to Cologne.

Further Information

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your coach driver will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

Pre-paid drinks package

Spend just £17.50 per person per night, and enjoy unlimited draught beer, house wine and soft drinks (including water, tea and coffee) between 10am and midnight while on board Olympia. All other drinks are not included. The drinks package must be purchased by every person occupying a particular cabin.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

This was a very pleasant leisurely boat cruise up the Rhine and Moselle. Food on board was absolutely superb, well proportioned, full marks to the chefs. The views of the vineyards in the valleys was superb. Good commentary by Lisa the tour rep. pointing out special points of interest.

The experience on the ship was good and would be recommended. The coach driver was safe and careful. The number of pickup points the delays and the length of the journey were not clear when booking we missed the planned ferry and were taken to Redhill in a very poor minibus with not all seat belts working we then waited because of problem with a pickup before us result was 14 hours on coach only one driver and that to look forward to on way back. It was our first time on coach holiday and we will be more careful researching the distances if we ever do it again.

Outward coach journey too long, only some of which was the driver's fault.

The facility I most missed was wifi.

The included coach trip to Trier was too short to be worth while doing. I wish we had stayed and walked into Bernkastel. Perhaps the Trier trip would have been better the previous afternoon.
