Itinerary

Day One

Fly to Cologne and join Olympia in the ancient Rhineland town of Andernach. Enjoy a first meal on board, and settle into your cabin before Olympia sets sail.

Day Two

Enjoy a wonderful, scenic cruise past Koblenz and into the Moselle, today. By early afternoon, Olympia will have moored in delightful Cochem, nestled beneath the Reichsburg's fairytale turrets. Explore the town, or join this afternoon's optional shore excursion to discover the castle and its secrets.

This evening, enjoy dinner and entertainment on board, then step ashore in beautiful Cochem and perhaps join us for an optional wine tasting as Olympia moors here overnight.

Day Three

Today, Olympia heads through a landscape of vineyards and fields to pretty Traben-Trarbach where she moors for the night. Join our optional afternoon coach excursion and discover more of the Moselle Valley and its winemaking villages as you travel the breathtaking route of the Mosel Weinstrasse.

Day Four

After a scenic morning cruise, Olympia will arrive in the twin town of Bernkastel-Kues. Discover this famous wine town on our walking tour, with its ancient, half-timbered houses surrounding the central square, and perhaps visit the ruins of the Burg Landshut to enjoy the spectacular view of the river.

Day Five

Boasting the finest collection of Roman remains north of the Alps, Trier is Germany's oldest settlement. Today's optional excursion will take you to the city by coach. Enjoy our optional walking tour, and don't miss the birthplace of Karl Marx and the imposing Dom cathedral.

This afternoon Olympia sails from Bernkastel-Kues, beginning her return journey downriver as you enjoy dinner and entertainment on board.

Day Six

This morning, Olympia arrives in historic Koblenz. Enjoy a guided tour of the town as you wander through the pretty altstadt (old town) or along the riverfront promenade, before re-boarding the ship and continuing to Andernach, where you'll have the opportunity to go ashore.

This evening, enjoy a special Farewell Dinner while Olympia cruises gently to Cologne.

Day Seven

Disembark in Cologne, leaving Olympia and the Rhine behind this morning, and head to the airport to board your flight home.

Further Information

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Pre-paid drinks package

Spend just £17.50 per person per night, and enjoy unlimited draught beer, house wine and soft drinks (including water, tea and coffee) between 10am and midnight while on board Olympia. All other drinks are not included. The drinks package must be purchased by every person occupying a particular cabin.

Tipping

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Luggage

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

*This offer is valid for new bookings made between 23rd June and 31st July 2017 (inclusive) only. Prices shown when booking do not include the discount. Ship is now very old but the food and service is excellent. The cabins are small and windows do not open so very airless

Excellent. Our only complaint would be being allocated four separate seats scattered about our Germanwings return flight which was problematic for one of our company who is a nervous flyer. Also we weren't informed that snacks and drinks had been prepaid for us so only one of the eight which would have been paid for was taken which is a pity. Lack of information on this should be addressed.

We had a really lovely holiday the ship was very friendly. Lovely that the Captain joined in with entertainment and was happy to speak to passengers. Overall it was a very good experience however arriving at 11.30 in the morning and being told our first meal was not until 9.30 in the evening was not good after being up since 3.00 in the morning. We had to go into Cologne to get something to eat when we could have done with relaxing. Also having to leave the ship by 8.30 and being left in Cologne all morning on day of departure wasn't good. We can appreciate having to vacate the cabin but not the ship so early. Surely we could have stayed abroad and then been taken straight to the airport.
