Deck Plans

Click here to display the deck plans for this cruise.

Day One

Join us before our coach boards the ferry to cross the Channel, or book an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Ashford, Kent, and board our coach when it stops at the hotel. Later this evening you'll arrive in Boppard, the picturesque 'pearl of the Rhine', with its great Roman fort and its beautiful historic quarter. Board Olympia in time to enjoy a buffet dinner, and the warmth and welcome of your first night.

Day Two

Early risers will be awake to see Olympia begin her journey, passing fairytale castles and beneath the legendary Lorelei (where sirens were said to lure unsuspecting sailors to their end), to alight at Rudesheim.

Here the famous Drosselgasse - lined with Weinstuben (wine taverns) and restaurants - bustles with life. Spend the afternoon soaking up the atmosphere of Rudesheim's famous Christmas market, which features Europe's largest Nativity Scene, then perhaps join our late-afternoon optional excursion to an early evening wine tasting and to see the remarkable collection of musical instruments that are found in Siegfried's Musikkabinett.

Day Three

Around lunchtime, Olympia will arrive in Koblenz, at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Step ashore to take in the atmosphere as you wander the stalls of the town's own Christmas Market, pausing to watch the skaters on the market's rink.

Alternatively, join our optional excursion to Cochem. Situated alongside the Moselle River, this pretty town of quaint cottages and winding streets hosts an excellent Christmas market in its beautiful medieval square.

Later, enjoy a final evening aboard Olympia, perhaps taking part in a quiz, or simply enjoying a performance by the on-board pianist.

Day Four

After an early breakfast, bid auf wiedersehen to Olympia and this captivating part of the world as our coach carries you back across Europe and across the Channel to the UK.

Further Information

Flexible joining options

Our flexible joining options allow you to travel on any date, and as an added convenience we've arranged two possible pre-departure options for you. Make your own way to the Holiday Inn Ashford North and stay the night (car parking is included), and our coach will call for you at the hotel on the way to the Channel.

Alternatively, make your own way to the Stop 24 Services in Kent (M20, Junction 11), and board the coach there. Parking is available (payable locally), and we'll confirm the exact meeting point and time in your Joining Instructions.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system. Bottled water can be purchased on board and locally.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

It was unfortunate and beyond Newmarket’s control but weather conditions and accident resulted in our being delayed by approx 10 hours and boarded ship 4.00am! I believe all coaches should have two drivers as most companies do. The cruise itself and the Rhine area were great. Staff and service excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday but maybe should have been an extra day or two. Thank you

The cruise and crew where superb.

The journey back to dover took 30 hours, i have not received any apology from Newmarket "Except from the driver" or indication of compensation when considering Eurotunnel will compensate Newmarket for the delays.

The wine tasting trip consisted of a 1 hour talk and 3 glasses of wine for £27 per person which was very disappointing.

The cruise manager was condescending and at times rude when addressing the passengers and managed to make the PA system sound muffled and broken.

Lovely holiday and everything worked put kust fine. The only thing that I would say stopped you getting top range was the trip back and the markets, the trip back by coach was so long and yhe markeys were too small, nice but not big enough. I would ceryainly go again but choose a better way of travelling.
