Board Magellan in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.
Magellan's first call is Amsterdam. Spend the day exploring canals, flower markets and museums, wander the cobbled streets, or take to the water on a canal cruise.
The next three days are spent relaxing at sea. Settle into the shipboard routine of rest and relaxation, and make use of Magellan's many amenities.
Days Three to Five
Magellan arrives at the tiny British territory of Gibraltar. Explore the very British Main Street, and take the cable-car to the summit of the famous Rock - not only for the tremendous views to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, but also to meet the outpost's famously mischievous Barbary Apes.
Today is spent at sea, with a host of on-board entertainments to pass the time.
The first of our Canaries calls is Arrecife, capital of Lanzarote, where black sand beaches fringe warm waters. You'll have the chance to head to 'fire mountain' and take a camel ride to the edge of a volcano.
Continue your cruise through the Canary Islands with a call at the great trading port of Las Palmas, gateway to Gran Canaria. Explore the bustling modern metropolis of Puerto de la Luz, or head to the palm-fringed squares of the old town, Vegueta. There will also be the chance to discover the spectacular scenery further inland on a shore excursion.
Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and today Magellan ties up at the principal port, Santa Cruz. This unforgettable island offers 'the whole world in one day' - from the chance to swim in the warm seas to throwing snowballs on the slopes of Mt Teide, Spain's highest peak.
Madeira is a sun-blessed, lush, green sub-tropical paradise. Today we visit the capital, Funchal, a perfect, relaxing, captivating port of call. Don't miss the exhilaration of a wickerwork 'toboggan' ride down the hill from Monte to Livramento!
Today will be spent at sea, relaxing and enjoying life on board.
Our last port of call is Lisbon, the Portuguese capital. See the contrasts between historic architecture and striking modern buildings in this city from which adventurers set sail, in search of new trade routes and new lands, during the great Age of Exploration.
Your final two days are spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Magellan heads for home.
Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.
