Croatian Island Cruise Itinerary
Fly to Split, then transfer by coach to the quay to board MS Kleopatra. After some time to settle into your cabin, get to know your fellow passengers at the Welcome Reception, and tuck into a sumptuous four-course dinner.
Day One: Fly to Split and join MS Kleopatra
Sailing into the shimmering waters of the Adriatic, we'll travel to the island of Brac and call at the beautiful town of Bol. Boasting the island's most spectacular beach - an ever-shifting spit of golden shingle backed by woodland - and a pretty town centre with an ancient monastery and attractive red-roofed houses, Bol is a perfect introduction to the Croatian islands.
Day Two: Visit the islands of Brac and Hvar
Rejoin Kleopatra for lunch before sailing on towards Hvar, where the surrounding turquoise waters, historic architecture and sunny weather make it one of the country's most luxurious summer destinations. Step ashore for a guided tour of glitzy Hvar Town to see St Stephen's Cathedral and the ancient public theatre, which pre-dates Shakespeare's Globe and is one of the oldest theatres in Europe. This evening, enjoy a night-time stroll through the glamourous town, and perhaps dine at one of the many harbourside restaurants.
Enjoy a lazy morning's cruise through azure waters before Kleopatra moors in a pristine bay for lunch. Enjoy the opportunity to swim or snorkel in this secluded paradise, or choose to relax on the deck and soak up the sunshine. Kleopatra will then sail on this afternoon to call in verdant Korcula, settled for over 6000 years. Enjoy an included walking tour of the main town, where ancient fortifications line its narrow, intertwining streets, and perhaps head to a taverna to sample some of the excellent wines produced on the island.
Day Three: Spend the afternoon in Korcula
Today the ship arrives in the stunning, walled-city of Dubrovnik, the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. This beautiful, historic city flaunts a medieval Old Town, which we'll explore on our walking tour. Stroll along the city's main street, Stradun, which is overlooked by impressive Sponza Palace and Baroque St Blaise's Church; see the Franciscan Monastery, which houses Europe's oldest pharmacy; and discover Rector's Palace (entrances payable locally).
Day Four: Explore Dubrovnik
Sailing north, we'll cruise past the leafy Elaphiti Islands, or 'Deer Islands', which provide a picturesque backdrop for a refreshing dip in the sea (weather- and time-permitting). This afternoon, we'll arrive in Mljet Island, which, legend has it, was the hiding place of Odysseus and Calypso. Thought to be one of the most beautiful Adriatic islands, this verdant oasis is carpeted in forests and lush vegetation. Explore Mljet National Park (entrance payable locally) to discover a paradise of saltwater lakes and birdlife, then spend the evening in the dainty village of Pomena.
Day Five: Visit Mljet Island
Relax on board as Kleopatra spends a lazy morning at sea. Sunbathe, enjoy a long lunch on board, and perhaps stop for a swim. By early afternoon we'll arrive in the idyllic haven of Pucisca, on the island of Brac. After the chance to stroll the streets of this pretty town, which is famous for stonemasonry, rejoin the ship for tonight's Captain's Dinner.
Day Six: Return to the island of Brac to visit Pucisca
Crossing back to the mainland, Kleopatra spends the morning in Omis, a former pirate hideaway situated at the gateway to the dramatic Cetina River Canyon. See the striking limestone cliffs of the canyon on an optional excursion, which heads upriver to Radman Mills.
Day Seven: Spend the morning in Omis then sail back to Split
A last afternoon of sailing brings us back to historic Split, capital of Dalmatia. See its fantastic, UNESCO-listed Old Town and the palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian, then perhaps enjoy your final evening dining on the bustling waterfront promenade, the Riva.
Disembark Kleopatra, and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Day Eight: Fly back to the UK
