Fly to Malaga, and make the one-hour transfer by comfortable, air-conditioned coach to your hotel in Antequera.
Day One: Fly to Spain
Today's full-day trip takes us to Seville. Explore the city's orange-tree-fringed squares, and see the huge cathedral, the Giralda Tower and the Moorish royal palace - the Alcazar. Seville is also home to many excellent tapas bars, so be sure to stop for tapas and a glass of fino sherry (payable locally) during your visit.
Day Two: Included Seville excursion
Spend today relaxing and exploring Antequera, or join our full-day excursion to the city of Cordoba. This elegant, former Roman and Moorish capital of Spain has La Mezquita, an immense Mosque into which a Christian cathedral has been incorporated, at its heart. After a guided tour of this magnificent building, you'll be free to explore the narrow lanes and corridors of the nearby ancient Juderia.
Day Three: Optional Cordoba excursion
On today's full-day excursion, you'll travel through a countryside dotted with villages of whitewashed houses, to Ronda. Set above the dramatic El Tajo gorge, which cuts a swathe through the sierra, this once-Moorish citadel is a maze of narrow streets and fine Renaissance houses. Don't miss the Plaza de Toros, Ronda's legendary 18th-century bullring, and perhaps cross the Puente Nuevo bridge, which spans the gorge and links the new and old towns. You'll also see the city's fascinating Roman-style baths.
Day Four: Included Ronda excursion
Today, we'll journey to Granada. Set in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, this great city incorporates many of Spain's most important examples of Moorish medieval architecture. Your time here will include a guided tour of the Alhambra. This outstanding UNESCO World Heritage Site is both a forbidding fortress and a palace where intricate towers and colonnades cluster around courtyard mosaics and beautiful formal gardens.
