Itinerary

Day One

Join our coach at your pick-up point this morning, and head to the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. This picturesque town hosts a weekend craft market, and you'll also find a range of independent retailers and boutique shops.

Visit Shakespeare's Birthplace, where costumed guides will take you back in time to explore his literary life, or discover the quirky designs and installations at Stratford's new Mechanical Art and Design museum. After time to explore, and perhaps enjoy an early dinner in a traditional pub (payable locally), we'll continue to our overnight hotel, arriving by mid evening.

Day Two

After a buffet breakfast, this morning, we head to Blenheim Palace - one of Britain's finest stately homes. Stroll through the grand rooms - lavishly decorated with wreaths, garlands and giant Christmas trees lit up by 1.5 miles of festive lights - and see the State Dining Table laid for a sumptuous Christmas dinner. Carol singers, organists and brass bands add to the festive atmosphere.

Blenheim Palace's Great Courtyard plays host to the Living Crafts for Christmas fair, voted number one of the 10 best Christmas markets by Country Living magazine in 2016. With over 150 stalls, the fair offers all manner of gifts and tasty delicacies, from stocking-fillers to decorations and trinkets, and traditional British produce.

You may like to round off your day with a wintry stroll through the magnificent grounds to Vanbrugh's much-photographed Grand Bridge, before we begin our journey home in the late afternoon, arriving back in the local area during the late evening.

This was my first coach trip with a friend, and was very impressed with how well organised the trip was. Tour guide was very informative and helpful, the coach was immaculate and the driver was really professional. We had a great time in Stratford upon Avon, and enjoyed being able to have a wander round the town. Blenheim palace was lovely; as was the Christmas markets. I would thoroughly recommend this trip!

the trip was in my opinion rather long winded. as we traveled to stratford upon avon. spent a nice few hours there, but was then driven miles to birmingham in the other direction to blenheim palace. then traveled all the way past the stratford turn off of the m40 to the a34 to blenheim palace. it just seemed a long way round to do this journey.
blenheim palace was lovely and we really enjoyed going around the house and grounds.

Travelled as a group of friends to enjoy Christmas markets and shopping. Unfortunately far too long was spent travelling on the coach due to pick ups not on the route. Rather than approximately 4 to 5 hours on the coach it took over 6 hours to get to our final destination. This meant that we did not have enough time to explore Stratford upon Avon or to enjoy a meal before going to the hotel. The following day we could have spent longer at Blenheim Palace but again spent a very long time on the coach. It diverted route also meant that the driver had to stop to allow for breaks for safety reasons. All in all we only had a total of 9 hours to enjoy both stops and spent almost 12 hours travelling. The hotel was ok but nothing special. One room had a damp smell. Breakfast very basic.

We started our journey at 7.30am arrived in Stratford upon Avon at 2.30, we seemed to go a very long way around to solstice services on the way there, whilst I appreciate the need to fill the coach it made it a very long journey and the same on the way back!! Also I assumed it would be a real Xmas market as opposed to a craft market , it was nice but would have preferred a good Xmas market. Perhaps it could be made clearer in broucher. The driver and tour manager were excellent no fault s there. Apart from a few grumbles we had a good weekend

Lovely break apart from the last hour in Stratford upon Avon when all the shops closed at six and everyone was just hanging around our meeting place for an hour waiting for the coach which wasn't picking us up until seven o'clock
