Britain's number-one fun-spot
See the greatest free light show on earth - the breathtaking Blackpool Illuminations - from on board a lovingly restored heritage tram as you take a trip to Britain's undisputed 'capital of entertainment'. Visit Bakewell and the delightful spa resort of Buxton, and step inside the Blackpool Tower Ballroom for an unforgettable afternoon tea dance.
Leaving the local area in the early morning, we'll travel to our hotel. En route, we'll stop for lunch (payable locally), before continuing to our hotel in time for dinner.
Day One: Coach travel to Blackpool
This morning we'll head to Blackpool, where you'll have time to enjoy the many attractions and diversions that surround the Golden Mile.
Day Two: Blackpool Illuminations tour
In the afternoon, join us for a tea dance at Blackpool Tower's iconic Ballroom. First opened to the public in 1894, the Ballroom is a stunning location in which to relax over afternoon tea. Take to the floor, or simply watch the world waltz by, and enjoy sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, a choice of cake and either tea or coffee.
As evening falls, we'll board a traditional Heritage tram for a 75-minute journey to discover the famous Blackpool Illuminations. This spectacular light show started in 1912 as a display of some 10,000 lights, and marked the first Royal visit to Blackpool. Today, it features over one million lightbulbs and showcases over 500 scenic designs that glitter along the seafront.
Today, we'll head into the stunning scenery of the Peak District, as we begin our journey home.
Day Three: Visits to Buxton and Bakewell
En route, we'll stop in Buxton, where you can visit the historic Crescent, peruse the town's excellent shops or relax in the beautiful Pavilion Gardens. Later in the afternoon, we'll also visit Bakewell, home of the famous pudding. Sample the local delicacy in one of the many cafes, before taking a stroll across the ancient, five-arched bridge, or having a browse around the town's eclectic shops.
We should arrive back in the local area by mid-to-late evening, after a marvellous weekend away.
Your seats on the main coach will be allocated for you in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible. Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)
Coach seating arrangements
Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.
Joining your holiday
Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.
The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
