City Information: Paris

By day, Paris is a wonderful place to wander - with its famous landmarks, fascinating museums, pavement cafes from which you can watch the world go by, stylish stores and specialty shops. By night, another city comes alive - a city of bars, jazz clubs, meeting places like the Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore, great restaurants, celebrated cabarets and spectacularly illuminated buildings.

Your Itinerary

Day One: Coach travel to Paris

Leaving your coach pick up, in the early morning, we'll head to France. We'll cross the Channel by Eurotunnel or by ferry, arriving at our hotel in the evening.

Day Two: Included Paris coach tour

Discover Paris' famous sights on our included tour - the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe on the Champs Elysees and the gleaming dome of Sacre Coeur - and then explore at your leisure. Our Tour Manager will be on hand to point you in the right direction, and to answer any questions you may have.

Later, you'll have the chance to discover the city's sights from the water, and to explore the Latin Quarter on our first optional excursion. See the sights from a different angle as you cruise along the Seine aboard a bateau mouche, and then stroll the fascinating, cafe-lined streets of the famous Left Bank. Enjoy an early evening meal (payable locally) before we return to our hotel.

Day Three: Included visit to Versailles

Today's included excursion takes us to the Palace of Versailles, the spectacular home of Louis XIV. As extravagant as the man who lived there, the Palace - with its luxurious Hall of Mirrors - is a delight to explore.

After a leisurely day exploring Versailles, we return to our hotel this evening.

Day Four: Optional Montparnasse Tower tour

Take a final coach trip into Paris to explore, today, and perhaps join our optional visit to the Montparnasse Tower. Ride the high-speed lift to the top of the tower, and take in the views from the highest panoramic bar in Europe.

Alternatively why not head to the hills of Montmartre? Admire the artwork displayed on the stalls in the Place du Tertre, and wander the cobbled streets taking in sights like the pearl-white dome of nearby Sacre Coeur.

Day Five: Coach travel back to the UK

After a leisurely start, re-board our coach to begin the journey home, arriving at your original pick-up point in the mid-to-late evening.

On the outskirts of Paris, at the edge of the Meudon Forest, the four-star Forest Hill Meudon-Velizy hotel stands in a wonderful green setting a few minutes' walk from the Velizy2 shopping centre (one of the largest shopping centres in Europe). The hotel is close to the T6 Meudon la Foret stop, a 15-minute tram ride from Paris itself.

Further Information

Channel crossings

Where possible, we will cross the Channel by ferry at the beginning and end of your holiday. However, we reserve the right to substitute crossings by Eurotunnel when necessary.

Coach seating arrangements

Your seats on the main coach will be allocated for you in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible. Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Triple rooms

The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.
