Spend a week on the celebrated Neapolitan Riviera, one of the Mediterranean's most alluring holiday destinations, journeying to idyllic Capri, along the spectacular Amalfi Drive, and into the past at Pompeii's startling ruins.
Single rooms are available for a supplement
This eight-day holiday is based on the Bay of Naples, where small towns and villages climb the hillsides offering up ever-more-spectacular sea views.
Overlooking the sea from its clifftop vantage point, Sorrento enjoys near-perfect views of the Bay of Naples. The town's focal point is the Piazza Tasso, where the seats outside its bars and cafes make perfect base from which to watch the locals on their evening passeggiata along the Corso Italia.
Six miles inland of Sorrento, Sant Agata del Due Golfi is ideal for those that enjoy a more relaxed pace and cooler evening air. Visitors here can take advantage of a small selection of shops, bars and cafes, and are spoiled with views of both the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Salerno.
Fly to Italy and transfer to your hotel. Check-in, unpack and unwind before enjoying dinner in your hotel and taking the evening to familiarise yourself with your surroundings.
A day free for you to enjoy as you please. Relax in the hotel, walk the shop-filled alleyways of Sorrento, watch the colourful sailboats go by from the town's tiny beach, or visit one of its two small ports.
Today you'll have the chance to wander the eerie ruins of Pompeii, the 'preserved' Roman town famously lost for centuries when it was engulfed by a furious eruption in AD79.
Across the bay, our second stop, Naples is a lively counterpoint to Pompeii's stillness. Join our guide to see Piazza Plebiscito, San Carlo Opera House and Castel Nuovo, to take in the astonishing views across the city from Posillipo, and to follow Spaccanapoli as it 'splits' the city's old quarter in two.
After a walking tour through Sorrento's oldest quarter, today's optional excursion will take us into the Campania countryside for an insight into the region's traditional farming and food. You'll have the chance to taste and buy regional delicacies as we visit a local wine cellar, an ancient olive press and a farm where the region's famous buffalo mozzarella is hand-made.
The day will also include a drive through some of the region's smaller towns, boasting spectacular views of the due golfi of Naples and Salerno.
Join us for a trip along the scenic Amalfi Drive. Marvel at its sheer cliffs, seemingly bottomless gorges and network of bridges. Enjoy the breath-taking site of Positano's colourful Moorish-style houses, and stroll the streets of beautiful Amalfi. End the day with a journey to hill-top Ravello to explore its winding alleys and roofed passages.
Today we cross from Sorrento to the idyllic isle of Capri. Anacapri's Villa San Michele offers visitors beautiful architecture and spectacular views. Climb to Solare's summit on a chair lift (payable locally) and stroll through the Augustus Gardens, or visit Capri Town's stylish boutiques. End the day with an optional boat trip to the otherworldly Blue Grotto (booked locally).
Unwind at your hotel or relax in one of Sorrento's delightful cafes of your final full day in Italy.
Return to the airport and check in for your flight home.
