Equally favoured by mild winds in the winter and cooling breezes in the summer, Lake Garda provides a perfect backdrop for enjoyable holidays. Each of our hotels offers a base from which to enjoy the beauty of the lake and the excursion programme.
On the north-eastern shore, Malcesine - like its quieter neighbours Assenza di Brenzone and Castelletto di Brenzone - boasts a delightful mix of twisting alleyways and bustling, flower-strewn squares. Visit the 13th-century castle, or take the funicular ride to the summit of Monte Baldo.
Delightful Limone, on the lake's western shore, is named for the terraced citrus groves on the surrounding hills. Colourful and bustling, with cobbled streets leading down to the lakeside, Limone is a perfect holiday resort, with an energetic nightlife to complement the relaxed, sun-blessed days.
The liveliest of our resorts, Torbole, also on Lake Garda's north-eastern shore, offers a vibrant cafe life and a lakeside promenade, from where, most afternoons, the windsurfing enthusiasts skimming across the water are a colourful sight.
Riva del Garda
Famous Riva, at Lake Garda's northern tip, has a busy historic centre surrounded by elegant, pastel-painted buildings. A good selection of cafes, gelaterie, bars, restaurants and shops make it one of the lake's most popular spots.
Fly to Italy and transfer to Lake Garda and your hotel. After a chance to relax and familiarise yourself with your surroundings, enjoy dinner in the hotel.
Relax and explore your hotel and its surroundings, today. Our resorts have much to offer - stroll the lakeside promenades, shop, watch the world go by from a pavement cafe or perhaps take to the waters of the lake itself.
Our Grand Circular Tour of Lake Garda, by boat and coach, is the perfect way to enjoy the region's marvellous scenery and to explore some of the delightful lakeside resorts. From the fjord-like eastern shores and the northern mountains to the western shoreline of citrus and olive groves, each section of the shoreline has its own distinctive charm and allure.
After a day of discovery and freqent stops to explore, we'll return to the hotel via the wine-growing town of Bardolino and the busy resort of Garda itself.
Today we'll discover "fair Verona" on the banks of the River Adige, the historic backdrop for the tragic tale of "Juliet and her Romeo" and home to the famous opera season held yearly in its Roman amphitheatre. Explore this fascinating place, then take a seat in an open-air cafe in Piazza Bra to watch the world go by.
Spend another day relaxing and enjoying the facilities at your hotel and exploring the resort.
Venice, which we'll visit today, is one of the world's most beautiful cities. With its mysterious labyrinth of alleys and waterways, spectacular St Mark's Square and Cathedral, the bell tower, the Doge's Palace, the Rialto Bridge and the mystique of the Palace of Prisons and the Bridge of Sighs, Venice has to be seen to be believed.
Join us for a full-day sightseeing tour through the crags and passes of some of Europe's most dramatic mountain scenery. Our journey includes the Val Rendena, the Adamello Glacier and Brenta Dolomites, as well as the picturesque Val di Genova, and you'll be able to take in the panoramic views on an optional cable-car ride.
It's "Arrivederci, Lago di Garda", today, as you board the coach and transfer back to the airport to check in for your flight back to the UK.
Hotel transfer times
The transfer time to Lake Garda is approximately three hours from Milan and Venice airports, and one hour from Verona Airport.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
Since certain attractions visited offer free admission to visitors aged under 18 and over 65, we do not include entrance fees. These will be payable locally where applicable. This applies to excursions that are included in the price of your holiday and to excursions booked as optional extras.
Combining hotel transfers
We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.
Meals in Italy
Guests on half-board arrangements will be served a three-course evening meal, and can expect a first course of traditional pasta or soup, a main meat or fish course accompanied by one or two types of vegetable, and a simple dessert of fruit, cake or Italian ice cream. Breakfasts will usually consist of bread rolls, jam, cereal, ham, cheese, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Menus will vary from hotel to hotel, but choice will be more limited than in a normal restaurant. In some instances, individual guests who have booked with the hotel independently may be offered a different menu from those who are staying at the hotel as part of a package tour.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair or electric scooter, please let us know as soon as possible so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Italian hotel room tax
Some regions of Italy have introduced a room tax of between 1 EURO and 3 EURO per person per night, payable directly by the guest to the hotel on check-out. You will be advised by your tour manager in resort if a particular hotel is implementing this charge.
Airport development fees
An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
