A choral spectacular
The Three Choirs, Britain's oldest music festival, will be held in Hereford in 2009. Our weekend programme combines visits to the concerts with talks by leading music experts and visits to sites of musical interest.

Itinerary
Day One
Make your own way to your hotel in time for dinner and this evening's illustrated talk on the life of Elgar by Dr John Harcup OBE, Vice Chairman of the Elgar Society West Midlands Branch.
Day Two
This morning you'll attend the opening Festival Service in Hereford Cathedral, which will feature the Festival Chorus and three cathedral choirs, and then enjoy a visit to Worcester for a guided walking tour of sites associated with Elgar.
After dinner, return to Hereford for a performance of Elgar's 'The Dream of Gerontius', and performances by the Festival Chorus and Philharmonia Orchestra.
Day Three
Enjoy a walking tour of the historic sites of Hereford in the company of a knowledgeable local guide. Afterwards travel through Malvern, Elgar's former home, on the way to Broadheath, his birthplace and site of the Museum tracing his life and career.
In the afternoon we'll return to the hotel to enjoy an early dinner before attending a final evening of music, which will include famous works by Mendelssohn and Stravinksy.
Day Four
After a leisurely breakfast you're free to make your own way home.
