Leaving the local area in the early morning we head to France via a cross-Channel ferry or through the Channel Tunnel, arriving at our hotel in the evening.
Travel along the Seine Valley to Giverny, once home to France's most famous artist. Monet's house, with its attractive pink facade, has been restored to its original beauty. Wander the garden paths before enjoying lunch in Giverny (payable locally), visiting its galleries and shops, or stopping at the village church, where Monet is buried.
Later we'll return to Paris. Join our optional excursion to old Montmartre, the artists' quarter. Wander the cobbled streets around the Place du Tertre, take in the sights, and perhaps climb the hill up to Sacre Coeur to take in the views.
Transfer into the centre of Paris to explore at your leisure, or join our half-day optional excursion to Fontainebleau. Discover its magnificent chateau, and visit pretty Barbizon, village haunt of Impressionists Rousseau and Millet.
This evening, bid "au revoir" to Paris on a final optional excursion to the fascinating, cafe-lined streets of the Latin Quarter, and board the famous Bateau Mouche for a romantic cruise along the Seine past all the major sights.
This morning we begin our journey home, arriving back in the local area by mid to late evening.
