The Scandinavian capitals are among the most enchanting cities on earth. Discover them for yourself as we travel from the fjordside charms of Oslo, through Norway and Sweden, to Stockholm's beautiful islands and on across 'The Bridge' to Copenhagen - Denmark's elegant, friendly capital.
Fly to Oslo where our coach will be waiting to transfer you to your first hotel. Check in, and then spend your evening relaxing, either at the hotel or in one of the city's bars.
Compared with London, Oslo seems a capital city in miniature. But it's no less lovely because of it. Join our guide see Akershus Fortress, the sloping public plaza that rises along the sides of the city's striking Opera House and the elgant (even understated) Royal Palace. You'll also see the City Hall on the Radhussplassen beside the harbour, stroll through the Vigeland sculpture park and visit the Ski Jump at Holmenkollen Ski Arena.
After time to explore we'll return to the hotel for dinner, which is included tonight.
Today you're free to explore Oslo. Head to the Munch Museum to see 'The Scream', wrap up for a drink in the nearby Ice Bar or visit the Kon-Tiki museum, where Thor Heyerdahl's famous balsa-wood craft is still on display. Alternatively, join our optional excursion to the Viking Ships Museum where three of the sleek, imposing ancient vessels are carefully preserved.
This morning we'll head to Oslo Central Station and board a high-speed train that will carry us across the Swedish border and through the countryside to Stockholm. Our coach will meet you at the station, and after checking in to your second hotel you'll be free to explore the city until your second included dinner this evening.
Stockholm is a city of islands (14 in fact) linked by bridges and scattered with parks, squares and open spaces. Our guided tour will introduce the cobbled lanes of the old town on Gamla Stan, the vast Royal Palace, the Parliament buildings on Helgeandsholmen and the medieval church on Riddarholmen where many of Sweden's kings lie buried.
After the tour you're free to explore. Wander Sodermalm's fashionable streets in search of good food and strong beer, or take the ferry across to Djurgarden to visit the Vasa Museum, the ABBA museum or stroll through the open acres of parkland.
Spend another relaxed day exploring Stockholm. Head to Ostermalm's elegant squares and shop-lined streets, or soak up the city's upbeat, friendly energy as you join the local tradition of fika (coffee, gossip, cake and more coffee) in on of the many cafes. You'll also have the chance to explore city's waterways and sights from a different angle on our optional cruise to Vaxholm Castle aboard SS Stockholm.
Leaving Stockholm behind we'll board our second train for the high-speed journey across the Oresund Bridge to Copenhagen, the cosmopolitan Danish capital.
Enjoy your third included dinner at your hotel this evening, then perhaps head into the city in search of hygge - life's simple pleasures, usually enhanced by a beer or two - in one of the bars along Nyhavn.
Join our guide to explore Copenhagen, this morning, from the Little Mermaid on her harbourside rock, past the grassy fortifications and moats of the Kastallet to the impossibly elegant buildings of the Amalienborg Palace. See the spires and gardens of the Rosenborg Castle, and the ornate copper-roofed buildings of the Stock Exchange, then enjoy the city at your own pace. Why not head to the Tivoli Gardens to enjoy an evening of entertainment amid the theatres, concerts, pavilions and restaurants of perhaps the world's most eclectic amusement park?
Spend another day discovering Copenhagen, or join our final optional excursion and travel through the green landscape of North-Zealand to Kronborg Castle. Set right on the tip of Zealand, at the Oresund's narrowest point, the castle was transformed by Frederick II in the late 16th Century, and is best known by its adopted Shakespearean name - Elsinore, the home of Hamlet.
Bid farewell to Copenhagen as we transfer you to the airport to board your flight home.
The transfer time from Oslo airport to your hotel is approximately one hour. On departure the transfer time to Copenhagen airport is approximately 40 minutes.
