Day One

Leaving your pick-up point by coach this morning, we'll travel to Dover or Folkestone for the crossing to Calais. From here, we continue our journey through France, arriving at your overnight hotel in the Strasbourg or Colmar areas in the evening.

Day Two

We'll continue our journey this morning, crossing into Italy and making our way to the hotel in Mira, where you'll enjoy a welcome drink on arrival and your first dinner this evening.

Day Three (Christmas Eve)

Our destination on today's optional excursion is Padua. Lovingly restored after WWII, this former Roman stronghold, is a delightful, enchanting university city with outstanding museums, great churches, colourful markets and - in Prato della Valle - Italy's largest town square.

This evening begin your celebrations with a special Christmas Eve dinner with a glass of sparkling wine and music.

Day Four (Christmas Day)

Christmas Day begins with a breathtaking cruise on The Venetian Lagoon and a spectacular view of the city. Returning to your hotel, you'll sit down for a festive turkey lunch and then have the afternoon and evening free to relax until dinner.

Day Five

Today we visit Venice. Get a taste of this astonishing city's canals, cobbled pathways and hidden squares on an included walking tour, then head off to explore, or relax, as you see fit. Cross the Rialto Bridge, step into St Marks Square, visit the Palace of the Doge and perhaps even sit back in a gondola or board the Vaporetto with the locals for a trip along the Grand Canal.

Days Six and Seven

Bid farewell to your hosts, and board our coach to begin the journey home. We will stop at a comfortable overnight hotel in the Strasbourg or Colmar areas, once again, before crossing the Channel the following day and arriving back at your original pick-up point by mid to late evening on Day Seven.

Further Information

Meet at port option

To give you greater flexibility and allow you to travel on the date that suits you best, you may like to meet the coach at Folkestone Services (called Stop 24) on the M20, which is just a five-minute drive from the Channel Tunnel and a 15-minute drive from Dover. If you wish to do this, please select the county 'Kent' and the pick-up point 'Stop 24 Folkestone Services Saltwood' when booking. You will be notified of the exact pick-up location in your Final Travel Details, which you will receive approximately 7-10 days prior to departure. Further information and car parking charges can be found at

Your journey

Depending on your departure point, you may leave your pick-up point very early in the morning and return very late at the end of the holiday, in order to meet your scheduled Channel crossings. There will also be a stop to transfer you from a feeder coach to your main coach, on both the outward and return journeys.

Coach seating arrangements

Your Tour Manager will have allocated seats for you on the main coach in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible, and will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Triple rooms

The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Ferry/Eurotunnel crossings

Your Channel crossings will either be by ferry or Eurotunnel and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.

Italian hotel room tax

Some regions of Italy have introduced a room tax of between 1 EURO and 3 EURO per person per night, payable directly by the guest to the hotel on check-out. You will be advised by your tour manager in resort if a particular hotel is implementing this charge.

Entrance fees

Since some attractions visited offer free admission to visitors at certain times of year, we do not include entrance fees. These will be payable locally where applicable. This applies to excursions that are included in the price of your holiday and to excursions booked as optional extras.

*Low deposit of £25 per person applies to new bookings made between 7th February and 31st March 2017 (inclusive) only. This offer only applies to selected coach-inclusive holidays. This offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.

Overall a very good Christmas break. A very long journey, took two whole days to get there. If you prepare for it with, say, a good book and plenty of nibbles it's not a problem. The journey through Switzerland was very pretty.
The included trips to Venice and Burano were also well planned and put together.
Hotel Patricia was very nice with lovely staff but the food and service was a little erratic.
Excellent value for money.

The trip to Venice was excellent helped by great weather. The coach was not the most comfortable that we have been on. The drivers were very good at their job, and quite helpful. The tour manager Dianne was very efficient and knowledgable. The hotel was clean and comfortable, but the food and service was awful, despite Dianne's efforts to improve it.

We felt the standard of the coach was very poor. The seats were in very bad condition and patched up with gaffer tape. There were no lap trays so reading, eating and drinking was difficult as there was nowhere to put items. It was very noisy and didn't feel we passengers should have been subjected to the fuel stops. These should have been done overnight or at some other time so as to not inconvenience the group.

A delightful three days with plenty to please everyone. Padua was new for me but the boat trip round the lagoon was also a lovely experience. Hope to visit some more of the ancient Italian cities next time like Verona, Bologna or Vicenza

We had a great time, Thank you. Diane was a great tour manager, she is a character but she knows her job and did it well. She was in control and we felt safe and well looked after by her. The coach was a bit well worn and we have been on better but it did the job. The hotel was great though I understand one or two were unhappy with the food, shame, we loved the food. If you want a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, sprouts, Christmas crackers etc you should book a holiday in the UK not Italy. Still you always get one or two wingers on any holiday. If any one complains tell them to clear off you don't want that sort of custom anyway, we are all better off without them on a tour holiday. Don't give anyone any refunds or discounts for just complaining. It was a great holiday, great value for money and the manager and drivers were brilliant. Well done and thank you all for a super Christmas holiday.

The trip was good, coach not suitable for such a long trip. Overnight hotels good. stops good. Venice hotel good, food very dissapointing, especially christmas day. Weather being so good made all the trips special. Padova very nice. Rep knew her stuff but was a bit scruffy in her apearance.
