Soak up the views of Banff and its surroundings as we ride the cable car to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, and take a trip to Surprise Corner for the views across to the famous Banff Springs Hotel and Bow Falls, on today's included tour. You'll also have free time to visit the famous hot springs, stroll Banff Avenue and perhaps enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants.

Day Three

Today we'll follow the Trans-Canada Highway as it snakes its way into British Columbia, through the forested Glacier National Park, to Kelowna on the shores of Lake Okanagan.

Day Four

Rest and relax in Kelowna, or perhaps join our optional wine-tasting tour - the Okanagan region is famed for its fruity whites and dessert wines.

Day Five

We'll rejoin the Trans-Canada Highway, today, and follow the mighty Fraser River west to Vancouver.

Day Six

Highlights on today's included guided city tour will include Gastown, beautiful Stanley Park, Chinatown, and the Burrard Inlet waterfront. You'll also cross into the leafy suburbs of "North Van" to take the cable car up Grouse Mountain, and for the chance to cross the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Day Seven

Beautiful Vancouver Island is our destination today. We'll cross the scenic Georgia Strait by ferry, heading to Butchart Gardens. This 50-acre site is among the most visited floral gardens in the world and has remained in the loving care of the Butchart family for over a century.

Later we'll continue to the island's southern tip and our next stop - charming Victoria, the capital of British Columbia.

Day Eight

Visit the pretty harbour, vast Parliament Buildings and grand Empress Hotel as you explore Victoria this morning. In the afternoon you'll also have the chance to head off shore, searching for signs of orca, humpback and gray whales on our optional whale-watching cruise.

Day Nine

Today we return to the mainland and head east, past the frontier town of Kamloops, to Sun Peaks - a modern alpine village high in the British Columbia interior.

Day 10

Expect a day of spectacular scenery as we travel past Mount Robson, the Rockies' highest peak, to Jasper where we'll spend the next three nights.

(June and September departures will include a Grizzly Bear River Cruise today - see below.)

Day 11

Ride the Jasper Sky Tram - Canada's longest and highest cable car - to the heights above the town, and soak up the spectacular scenery of Maligne Canyon and stunning Maligne Lake, on today's included tour.

Day 12

Today's optional adventure is a ride on the back of (or in a sidecar beside) a Harley Davidson motorcycle piloted by a professional rider. An unforgettable two hours of breathtaking scenery, twists and turns will take you to the base of Angel Glacier on Mount Edith Cavell before returning to Jasper.

Day 13

Leaving Jasper, we'll travel along the Icefields Parkway, often referred to as one of the most scenic drives in the world. We'll take a trip out onto the Athabasca Glacier, part of the Columbia Icefield, in a specially built Ice Explorer, before continuing to our final hotel - the luxurious Chateau Lake Louise, beside the turquoise waters of the Lake.

Day 14

Take time to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings one last time before boarding our coach for the journey back down to Calgary where you'll board your flight home.

Arrive back in the UK, after an overnight flight.

Wow, what a wonderful holiday we had in Canada. Content was excellent, beautiful locations and scenery, good hotels mostly close to local amenities, an excellent driver and best of all a very knowledgeable, likeable, organised and resourceful tour guide in Jeff. Add all this up and you have a holiday full of treasured memories and photo opportunities to die for. To go to all the locations on the itinerary meant lots of time spent travelling on the coach but Jeff did his best to keep us entertained with local anecdotes and various nuggets of information on local and national history, geography, wildlife, geology and what was around the next corner. He knew his stuff and he knew how to impart his knowledge and enthusiasm to the entire group.

the holiday was an amazing experience and one that we would recommend.
the hotels we stayed in ranged from luxury to basic, but all were clean and it was good to stay 2 nights in most places. the food and service in hotels / restaurants was always of a high standard.
it was packed with such varied experiences, the scenery was spectacular and breathtaking. seeing animals ( moose, wolves, mountain sheep, elks) in their natural habitat. We travelled over 1600 miles and we learnt so much about the area from the tour guide. we would recommend an organised tour as feel you see so much more and get more information than if you travelled by yourself.

We had a brilliant time. The route we took, starting and finishing in Calgary, was great- rather than starting and finishing in Vancouver because the Banff area was beautiful and we got to do it twice.
The coach was a big and modern, so it was comfortable and there was plenty of room to move around- which was useful for picture taking and wildlife spotting. The driver we had was Bill and his presence added a positive to the trip.
Our tour guide, Jeff, was amazing. He had so much knowledge and enthusiasm (without reading from notes) of everywhere we went and in what we were seeing, giving information and pointing out wildlife. He coordinated the trip well with concise instructions on lengths of stops and ensuring everybody was on board before moving away. He got a perfect balance of socialising with the group at times -with being in charge. I cannot speak highly enough of what he added to this trip and I miss his 'joke of the day'.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotels, all the rooms were good and comfortable and central for independent exploring.
The included excursions were much better than I expected- it was not a glorified marketing trip for the local businesses (trying to part us with our money) but places I would genuinely want to visit and spend time. Some of the places I would have liked to have longer at, however, there was so much to fit in I understand why visit times were limited -and would not like to have missed out on any of our stops.
I would definitely recommend this trip, it was fast-paced -but with free days amongst it to do your own thing or go on one of the optional excursions. It was a great introduction to Canada.

I've never seen and might not ever see such spacious and spectacular scenery again in Banff,Kelowna,Hope,Canmore and Jasper.
Canada is a wonderful country and so is her people. Both the bus Driver Bill and the tour director Jeff went more than the 'extra mile' for our friendly group who geled together so well
