Day One

Board Marco Polo in Bristol today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.

Days Two and Three

Spend the first two days relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.

Day Four

Marco Polo's first Norwegian port is Alesund. Here you'll find a beautiful natural harbour, a waterfront lined with tall, pastel-painted buildings, and insights into the history and heritage of the region on a visit to the fascinating Sunnmore Museum.

Day Five

Relax on board as Marco Polo spends another day at sea.

Day Six

Tromso's magnificent 'Arctic Cathedral' rises grandly from its bustling centre. Step ashore to explore the daily market and the fascinating Polarmuseum, which chronicles the lives and exploits of the likes of Amundsen and Nansen.

Day Seven

Today Marco Polo docks in the pretty, remote village of Honningsvaag. Join an optional excursion to the famous visitor centre at Nordkapp, almost at Europe's northernmost point. You'll return to the ship, passing Europe's true north tip at Knivskjellodden, before Magellan continues south.

Days Eight and Nine

Marco Polo's next port of call is remote Alta. Spend two days sky-gazing at your leisure here, where the Northern Lights are at their most astounding. Explore the Arctic region of Finnmark (home to the indigenous Sami people, the prehistoric rock carvings at Hjemmeluft and the famous Ice Hotel) on one of our exciting optional excursions.

Day 10

Relax on board as Marco Polo spends another day at sea.

Day 11

The lovely town of Kristiansund stands on a cluster of four islands at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It's also the starting point of the Atlantic Ocean Road, a five-mile ribbon of roads and bridges that links the islets and skerries that skirt this part of the Atlantic coast.

Day 12

Marco Polo cruises into beautiful Romsdalsfjord and Andalsnes, today. From here, there's the opportunity to enjoy an excursion through some of Norway's most spectacular mountain scenery, and perhaps a chance to visit the famous wooden Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting beside the fjord.

Day 13

This morning Marco Polo docks in Bergen. This ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses was the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.

Days 14-15

A final few days are spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Marco Polo heads for home.

Day 16

Bid farewell to Marco Polo and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
