Rest and relax in the hotel, getting to know this delightful area, which throws itself into the Christmas festivities every year as the bars and cafes that fringe the sandy bay all adorn themselves with lights and decorations.

Day Three

On the first of our included excursions you'll explore Valletta. Visit the award-winning Malta Experience, where an audio-visual presentation will reveal the history of the island and its capital; the Lascaris War Rooms; the Upper Barracca Gardens; and the Auberge de Castille - former home to the Knights of St John.

Day Four (Christmas Eve)

As well as the opportunity for some last-minute Christmas shopping, today offers the opportunity to journey back in time as an included excursion takes you across Valletta's Grand Harbour to the three medieval 'cities' of Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea.

This evening, begin your Christmas celebrations with dinner and live entertainment at the hotel.

Day Five (Christmas Day)

Enjoy a perfect day of rest, relaxation and celebration in the hotel and its surroundings, which will include a traditional Christmas Dinner and live entertainment.

Day Six (Boxing Day)

Enjoy a restful day, or perhaps join the optional excursion to delightful Gozo. Board the ferry for a crossing to the quaint port of Mgarr, and visit the island's fortified capital, Victoria, picturesque Marsalforn, famous Calypso's Cave overlooking sandy Ramla Bay and the fascinating 'Inland Sea' at Dwerja.

This afternoon's optional excursion will take you to Sliema to board a cruiser for a fascinating tour of Valletta's spectacular Grand Harbour. The scale of the massive fortifications, wharves and waterside buildings becomes all the more apparent when seen from the water.

Day Eight

Return to the airport to check in for your flight home.

Further Information

Hotel transfer times

The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately 30 minutes.

Combining hotel transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Departures from Stansted, Belfast, East Midlands and Newcastle

Customers flying from these airports depart and return one day later that the standard departures. As a result, their excursion programme will begin on Day Two, rather than Day Three, and will end with a day to relax in the resort.

This was an thoroughly enjoyable holiday, helped by some sunshine - much appreciated after departing Newcastle Airport in the dark and wet! We enjoyed a Christmas break with my parents, who flew from East Midlands Airport. They received good customer service with Ryan Air, with my Mum provided with assisted boarding and landing.

Agnes, our Tour Guide, was excellent, and very informative on all trips - both included and optional.

The hotel made areal effort to make guests' Christmas stay special. All the staff there were extremely friendly and helpful.

The island is beautiful and the weather was lovely unfortunately the Hotel was very dis- appointing.
The buffet dinners were very, very poor. Your advert promised Christmas Dinner. Ours consisted of ham, chips, sweetcorn & Brussel sprouts. The other choices of meat and fish were most unappetising. The sweets were poor gateaux and ice-cream nightly.
Our room whilst adequate had very poor towels and bedding. Not up to the standard we would expect.
We had to pay 2.50 euro a day each for a sachet of coffee, tea, dried milk & sugar to use in our room.
On Christmas Day we were requested to make our own beds. The Rep met us at the Airport but did not escort us. She turned up briefly the following eve. to give us details about leaving. The courier on our excursions was very knowledgeable & helpful.

Dear Susan, further to your telephone call of yesterday, I have passed a copy of this review to our Customer Relations team. This is not done as a matter of course and we would always recommend emailing them if you want an individual reply. You should hear back from them within the next 28 days.

A lovely hotel with excellent food and staff and although one or two nights of the entertainment were good one or two were very 'iffy'. Found the 'obtaining of tokens' to purchase of drinks very 'off putting' when on half board. Never knew exactly how many to purchase, particularly, as I could not redeem them at the end of the holiday when booking out. Also annoyed when I dressed up over Christmas by wearing a jacket was asked 4 times to show my wrist band. 'Felt like a Criminal' !!!! Never felt as uncomfortable in this hotel as any I have been in and I have 50 years of holiday experience all over the world.
Our main complaint is the area that this hotel is situated. Very tired and run down

Overall we enjoyed the holiday. The planned visits and optional excursions were very good and well arranged. There were no problems with the flights or flight connections and the baggage allowance was sufficient for two people for seven nights.

We stayed at the Santana hotel in Qawra. We felt that the level of service at that hotel could be improved including level of maintenance in the rooms and the provision of a free tea / coffee service. The food quality was OK but nothing special.

If we were to go on a similar holiday, we would like to try a different hotel and probably different location.
