Day One

Fly to Italy, meet your Tour Manager and make the scenic journey to Maiori and your holiday base.

Day Two

Get to know your surroundings and enjoy the hotel's facilities today, or perhaps take the shuttle bus to the beach. Stroll down the main Corso Reginna with its many shops, and soak up the atmosphere of a town famous as the setting of some of legendary film director Roberto Rossellini's quintessentially Italian films.

Day Three

Today's optional excursion will take you to the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. Climb the road to a height of 1000 metres, from where the views are stunning, and perhaps take a guide (payable locally) and climb the 500 metres or so further to the volcano's rim.

Afterwards, take in the haunting ruins of Roman Pompeii, miraculously 'preserved' by the eruption of the volcano in AD79. Excavations have continued to reveal the city, which had been buried and forgotten until its rediscovery in the 18th Century.

Day Four

Today's included excursion takes in the world-famous Amalfi Drive, the scenic coastal road that winds its way above the towering cliffs and resorts like Positano that cling to the hillside. You'll also be able to spend time in exquisite Sorrento, taking in the town's colourful port and bustling Piazza Tasso.

Day Five

Visit the magical Isle of Capri on today's optional excursion as you travel by boat from Amalfi, past tiny Positano. Discover picturesque Anacapri on the slopes of Mount Solare, famous Villa San Michele, and Capri Town. Spend time shopping in the designer stores, and perhaps take an optional boat trip to the famous 'Blue Grotto' or enjoy lunch, before the return sailing.

Day Six

Spend today at leisure, or perhaps make the short trip into nearby Amalfi, a wonderful port-town where the houses rise up the hillsides and the main square is dominated by the beautiful, lovingly restored facade of the cathedral.

Day Seven

Head south on today's included excursion around the Bay of Salerno to fascinating Paestum, site of some of the finest ancient Greek remains in Italy. Examine the preserved Doric columns and the tomb paintings before continuing to Salerno - a perfect Southern Italian city complete with bustling streets, an imposing cathedral, dozens of trattorie and stunning views over the Amalfi coastline.

Day Eight

Transfer back to the airport for check-in and your flight home.

Further Information

Combining hotel transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

Hotel transfer times

The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately one hour from Naples or four hours from Rome.

The Hotel San Pietro, Maiori

At this hotel, local wine and soft drinks are included with dinner. Complimentary tea or coffee and biscuits are served each afternoon. Guests can also enjoy free use of tennis courts and sunbeds.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Meals in Italy

Guests on half-board arrangements will be served a three-course evening meal, and can expect a first course of traditional pasta or soup, a main meat or fish course accompanied by one or two types of vegetable, and a simple dessert of fruit, cake or Italian ice cream. Breakfasts will usually consist of bread rolls, jam, cereal, ham, cheese, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Menus will vary from hotel to hotel, but choice will be more limited than in a normal restaurant. In some instances, individual guests who have booked with the hotel independently may be offered a different menu from those who are staying at the hotel as part of a package tour.

Entrance fees

Since some attractions visited offer free admission to visitors at certain times of year, we do not include entrance fees. These will be payable locally where applicable. This applies to excursions that are included in the price of your holiday and to excursions booked as optional extras.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Italian hotel room tax

Some regions of Italy have introduced a room tax of between 1 € and 3 € per person per night, payable directly by the guest to the hotel on check-out. You will be advised by your tour manager in resort if a particular hotel is implementing this charge.

Airport development fees

An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Fenstanton Couple
Excellent holiday overall. Hotel first class, service good. Coaches comfortable. Quite surprised we had no meeting with rep as it clashed with our trip to Capri, which was changed to Wednesday, our first day there, instead of on the SATURDAY. Was surprised the Capri trip was changed to the Wednesday as some people had late flights on the TUESDAY and some were delayed and could not make the trip. The young rep, dont know name, was very informative but lacked control keeping his party together on Capri trip.

Lovely Hotel a bit concerned about how many people using pool at weekend certainly not hotel guests
Tour guide tells you this is the town (Salermo) but it is only 9.30 Sunday morning and a lot of shops are not open because it is Sunday and those that do open you have to wait till 10.00 not the greatest

Wickford Friends
We really had a lovely holiday on the Almalfi Coast the hotel was welcoming very clean and nothing was too much trouble for them, plus a good location . The only thing that we were dissapointed with was the trip to Salerno was changed to a Sunday and all shops were closed and it was a grim walk around a city with everything closed. I would really recommend this lovely holiday as it was friendly and so well organised thank you I shall certainly travel with. You again. jan

PARIS, FRANCE Single traveller
The Hotel Reginna Palace was lovely even if single room was depressing. Tour Guide was probably the worst I have ever had in all my travels;pessismistic, refusal to describe excursions (just look at time on hotel board), no timetable so had to phone him, lack of knowledge or bad advice during excursions. I only wanted a beach pool holiday and already knew the area so ok for me. As I would like to do some French trips this year and next, I hope your French tour guides are better. Booking with Newmarket was great with reasonable prices.

West Molesey Couple
Hotel and staff superb but evening meals left a lot to be desired.
Tour Manager Luca well versed on the area which made the stay more enjoyable.
His humour and company throughout the trip was a credit to Newmarket.

Sevenokoaks Couple
We very much enjoyed the holiday overall. The hotel and the tour manager were excellent and very helpful in both cases. The two optional excursions to Pompeii/Vesuvius and Capri were very good and well worth the money. Three areas for improvement- 1. We had assumed entrance fees, e.g. Pompeii, were included in the price ( as did many others), 2. Not sure why Salerno was included in excursion as it is a working port/city and nothing for there for tourists, 3. Meridiana check in at Naples airport could only be described as chaotic at best
