Deck Plans

Click here to display the deck plans for this cruise.

Day One

Join our coach before it boards the ferry to cross the Channel and head to join Olympia in Amsterdam. This evening, enjoy dinner before the ship slips away from the dock and makes the short journey out into the Markermeer to her first stop - Hoorn.

Day Two

Wander the pretty streets of Hoorn before Olympia crosses the inland sea again and stop at Lelystad. This afternoon's optional excursion takes in the garden city of Apeldoorn and Het Loo Palace, former Dutch royal residence.

Afterwards Olympia heads back across the Markermeer and past Amsterdam's ancient heart to stop in Zaandam, where Tsar Peter the Great once lived disguised as a humble ship-builder, and whose windmills and colourful houses were once subjects for impressionist Claude Monet.

Day Three

This morning's unforgettable included excursion is to the world-renowned Keukenhof Gardens, where some seven-million flowers carpet the ground in a breathtaking display. Wander this floral paradise, perhaps stopping in one of the restaurants and cafes, or take a boat ride (payable locally) through the stunning gardens.

Rejoin Olympia in Amsterdam, and spend a final afternoon and evening on board. Alternatively, join our optional Amsterdam canal cruise - perhaps the best way to see the sights of the city and round off your time in Holland.

Day Four

Bid farewell to Olympia, and begin your coach journey back to the UK.

Further Information

Flexible joining options

Our flexible joining options allow you to travel on any date, and as an added convenience we've arranged two possible pre-departure options for you. Make your own way to the Holiday Inn Ashford North and stay the night (car parking is included), and our coach will call for you at the hotel on the way to the Channel.

Alternatively, make your own way to the Stop 24 Services in Kent (M20, Junction 11), and board the coach there. Parking is available (payable locally), and we'll confirm the exact meeting point and time in your Joining Instructions.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Pre-paid drinks package

Spend just £17.50 per person per night, and enjoy unlimited draught beer, house wine and soft drinks (including water, tea and coffee) between 10am and midnight while on board Olympia. All other drinks are not included. The drinks package must be purchased by every person occupying a particular cabin.

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

The holiday was very good but the cabin near the engine was difficult especially with 2 4.30am starts; that meant no more sleep. A cabin mid-ships is essential if your like your sleep. The travelling arrangements were very good. The coach was very comfortable. The ship's crew were amazing. There was a little too much focus on the 'red-light' district but apart from that it was a very enjoyable trip.

Getting there took forever (and we were the last on board the coach at Ashford) and the coach did not stop for almost 4 hours - was this legal? It would also have been good to have the driver tell us when we might get there etc sooner than he did. Having said that he was a brilliant driver. Return journey excellent.
Peter the tour manager was brilliant and the crew a delight. V efficient.
Plan to get to Keukenhof early was key to the enjoyment of the cruise.
Liked Hoorn immensely and good to have free time in Amsterdam in Sunday

I would have liked more information before leaving, it was a shock to wake up on the sea! I also did not realize it was such a long journey to Amsterdam, if I had I would have flown. The driver was a major irritation with his almost constant stupid jokes. The weather meant early sailings and insufficient sleep for me. The entertainer should not have allowed some passenger to 'sing' three songs each night, the same three songs! He should have said he had a different set tonight and perhaps later not as soon as we had eaten dinner. It was not billed as karaoke. Apart from those negatives it was a good break on a nice ship.

Frome Couple
A nightmare coach journey from Calais where our driver went to fill up with diesel at a fuel station that was no longer there! This, coupled with not being able to find the ship's berth in Amsterdam added more than 2 hours to the journey. With two ports of call cancelled and one late change meant we had very little cruising. What we saw of Amsterdam was enjoyable as was the gardens and the Het Loo Palace excursion. The ship's crew were pleasant - even if our entertainer's repertoire was a bit limited. Food was very palatable and a very good wine list. For us there was a little too much travel to get there and back for such a short break and if we were to travel again on a river cruise it would be for a longer trip.
